I tried several time to post comments within a discussion thread using my iPad but when I tap in the text field my keyboard won't pop up. Any suggestions?

Excuse the typos in this post but I'm trying to do it on my BlackBerry. I'm being VERY challenged with my mobile devices.

I haven't seen any issues, but I'll try again later from my iPad & test account in case there's a Member/Admin difference of some kind.

Here's something you can test. Open up one of the discussion threads and tap inside the Fast Reply box. The iPad keyboard starts to pop up, the cursor jumps below and outside the box and Safari completely closes down. I've tried this multiple Forums with the same results.

Can't reproduce this issue on my iPad, either on this account or my test member account. I do see the cursor getting confused, but it straightens out once you start typing and I don't see any other issues.

I'm typing this on my iPad into the Fast Reply window at the bottom of the page.

The browser crashing is a bit suspicious; have you reset your ipad recently? Might not be a bad thing to try to see if it fixes the issue.

Using ipad4 withouynissue and all the toolbar options are working perfectly. Check your general settings for keyboard to see if you have a conflict. And check to see if your OS version is current.

Fast editor is not responsive to typing. Switched to full editor and no issues.

YES! and yes. I get kicked out all the time on my iPad and I can't read my personal msgs..I get kicked out of the site. It is frustrating. I am able to use fast response without issues. My problems mainly revolve around topics and messages.

Found a topic that says it's an OS issue. Upgrade to the latest OS version and it should fix it. Also, clear the cache on Safari. That solves all sorts of strange issues at times.

Safari is not very friendly to many websites as Apple devs follow strict standards, which may conflict with the ones used by the majority of the world, sorry to say.

I had the same problem with the iPad/iPhone also. I read somewhere that it has to do with mobile platforms and forums in general. I have had the same problems on other forum whenever I used my mobile devices. I downloaded a forum reader like Tapatalk and using that app solved the problem for me.

Hello Chris,

And :welcome:/> to SingleDivers! It's great to have another NJ diver on board. The NJ faction of SD has been growing quickly! I also had iPad crashing issues. I believe it's a known problem with how the Apple iOS reads forum type web pages. Two things that I do.

First, if I get a crash I change over to Full Version, theres a link to change over to full web version from the mobile version of the site down at the bottom of the web pages.

Second, using a dedicated forum reader app. Tapatalk I believe is the one I use. Simply download it from the appstore. It makes navigating not jus SD but any forum based web page significantly easier. Hope this helps. Feel free if you have any questions.

J
