Join us on our First Ever Fiji Liveaboard offering the opportunity to visit some of Fiji's most highly rated dive sites in one superb itinerary. Fiji is known for its pelagics and stunning corals. Divers here can see a variety of sharks and rays including manta, grey reef, hammerheads and silver tips along with schools of fish, colourful hard and soft corals. Drift dives, often with strong current, over steep walls and pinnacles should be expected. However we will also spend time throughout the trip in sheltered lagoons and coral gardens where the the reefs shelter the smaller critters too. How the Int'l Air Works:
Due to int'l dateline you leave Mar 1 but arrive Mar 3. Then you stay for 7 or 11 days. Or if doing the 3 day buffer pkg you depart Mar 5 and arrive Mar 7 and depart Mar 10 for the siren. When you leave you leave on Mar 14 if doing land only for 11 days and you arrive in US on Mar 14. If you do the 7 day you depart the 10th and arrive US the 10th and if you do the liveaboard you depart the 20th and arrive the 20th to the US.

However please understand that neither the resort/dive operator nor SingleDivers.com can help you out with your gambling losses. SD.com accepts a huge amount of liability to fill ALL the trips we run OR EAT THE SPOTS. I can assure you that I have paid plenty of gambling losses over the years. But I won't gamble with my life (I have both DAN and DIVE ASSURE for Dive Insurance) and I won't gamble with my trips...(I have the annual policy by DIVE ASSURE which covers ALL MY DIVE TRIPS!)
So the choice is yours....bet on no hurricanes, no accidents, no illness, no deaths in the family, no job loss, no immediate death/injury to yourself* ...and laugh in the end when your bet pays off. But when it does not...PLEASE 
PLEASE PLEASE do not expect the resort nor dive operator nor SingleDivers.com to refund your money because your bet did not pan out.

Insurance:
Trip Insurance is required for this trip as SingleDivers.com and Worldwide Dive and Sail cannot be held liable for any delays which occur during the cruise, nor delays/cancellations of the flights and transfers organized on your behalf not to mention the array of unforeseen events that often strike before a bucket list trip like this! Dive Insurance is mandatory for all SingleDivers.com trips. (Please see the links above and ask me about the side by side comparison between DiveAssure and DAN last March in Bonaire.)
Visa and Passports:
Passport holders of most Western and Asian countries will be issued with a visa on arrival into Fiji, that allows for stays of up to 4 months. Please make sure that your passport has validity of at least 6 months beyond the period you intend to stay in Fiji. If you are travelling with medication please ensure to bring your physician's prescription with you.
Visa and entry requirements are the responsibility of our guests and we advise you to check the Fiji Government website for changes or updates to this information.
Time Zone:
The local time is 12 hours ahead of UTC (GMT).
Health Care:
Fiji is free from malaria, yellow fever and major tropical diseases that are endemic to most tropical countries. It has an effective medical system in place although local people still believe in the efficacy of age-old herbal remedies. No inoculations are necessary for travel to Fiji.
Climate and Weather:
Fiji is a tropical country with a maritime climate and the weather is fairly even all year round. The year is roughly divided into two seasons; 'wet' and 'dry'. The wet season, characterised by heavy brief local showers, generally begins in November and can extend through to April. Cyclones do occur in Fiji, and are typically confined to the wet season. The dry season, which runs from May to November, has cooler temperatures and slight to moderate winds. Daytime temperatures range from an average of 25°C (77°F) during the dry season, up to 31°C (88°F) in the wetter months whilst evenings are marginally cooler and can drop to just 21°C (70°F).
Predicted Average Water Temperatures in Fiji:
Warmer waters are common in February- June with averages of approximately 28°C (82°F). Most guests find that a 3mm shorty and possibly a rash vest is suitable for the water temperature in the warmer months, and 3mm – 5mm long for the rest of the year. However, for guests who feel the cold easily, especially with repeated diving, we recommend to bring an extra vest / hood.
Clothing and Footwear:
Dress code on board our yacht or at BEQA is very casual and most guests feel comfortable in little more than swim wear, shorts and t-shirts. However, we ask our guests to put a t-shirt over the swimwear while seated at the dining area. A sweater is advised for cooler nights, particularly after multiple dives. Guests prefer bare feet on board the yacht; however island visits will require sturdy sandals or cross-trainers.
Electricity:
Siren & Beqa both have both 220V and 110V with 2 round pin sockets. (European style) Please make sure you bring universal adapter with you if necessary. Electrical current on land is 240 Volts with the US-style flat 2-pin sockets.
Smoking:
Smoking either on Siren or at Beqa Lagoon is permitted in designated (outdoor) areas only.
Currency:
The Fijian dollar is the basic unit of currency, available in denominations of $2, $5, $10, $20, $50. Coins: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c and $1. There is no limit to the amount of money to be brought in. Visitors are allowed to take out currency up to the amount imported.
SD's Rent-A-Buddy Program:
Please also note that the Rent-A-Buddy program will be very limited on this trip. It is after all a bucket list trip and our hired Rent-A-Buddies want to be able to enjoy diving without working the entire time. So if you had planned to do the RAB program... please talk to us FIRST via kamala@singledivers.com!
