Hmmm. Here is the list of "not included" from the first posts.  200 Euros ($225) is a decent amount more than $150.  Will be interested to hear the updates from the Siren.  Thanks for looking into it.  I had forgotten about this relatively significant charge.

 

NOT INCLUDED:

• Airfare to Nadi, Fiji (NAN)
• Local transfers to/from the yacht to/from the airport
• Marine Park, Port Fees & Taxes from 150 Euro/person
• Crew gratuities
• Torch and Dive computer rental 5 Euro/day
• Classes/Instruction
• Alcohol other than Beer
• Any items of a personal nature
• Hotel day rooms (we will arrange hotel day rooms in Nadi for your last day in Fiji. Rate is approximately $65USD. Guest to pay hotel direct. Please let us know if you would like this option)

Originally, waaaay back when, the above list was how it was shown on Siren's site. Now, it's listed in the Schedule/Rates area - it wasn't before.  The Siren has also changed their pricing from Euros to USD since the discussion began and after we'd booked the trip.  The Marine Park Fee for a 7-day trip is 150 Euro and the 10-day is 200 Euro (as shown today). Initially, what is in your list is the only place I remember finding it on their site and the 200 Euro had no mention, I guess that's why they say "from" 150 Euro/person.

It's probably a bit late to tell you guys this but for those of you doing the shark dive's most dive shops require a full wetsuit not a shorty. You can probably rent One of you done want to haul a full wetsuit for 2 dives. I have my 1mm full with me and I'm doing my shark dives before I go to Bega since I'm already here in Pacific Harbor and I want to dive NOW! Lol. see you guys at Bega on the 7th. If you need to borrow mine I'm happy to let you try it on. It's a large.

Updates:

 

1. We originally had 150 Euros which I thought was the 10 day trip price but may have been only the 7 day trip. It is 200 euros so that is what it will be. I am sorry for any confusion. As for a fuel surchg, I am awaiting clarification but I would ASSUME THE WORST and plan for it.  The bank of Kamala will be open to cover any shortfalls. Just bring a bank check.

2. Rooming on the boat was a pain due to 2 cabins that have only one bed in it. Fortunately 3 exceptional women helped everyone by offering to bunk together and share sleeping in the lobby/upper deck etc. Because this took more time than I had imagined I did not get the electronic boat links out to everyone timely.

3. By now you should have an email from Siren asking you to confirm your flights, local accommodations, and fill out waivers etc. PLEASE DO THIS AS SOON AS YOU CAN. I should have done it sooner so you getting it done timely will help me out tremendously.

 

The weather is lovely...once we go diving this morning I'll give you some relative water temps for this part of Fiji.

BEQA PEEPS:

 

For those still heading to Beqa...

 

1. Some rooms have the 2 rounded prong euro style and some have the 3 pronged Aussie style plug ins...be prepared for BOTH. The office does have some extras if you are short.

2. Check your step down converter and make sure it has a 3 pronged plug in if you plan to use a power strip. Otherwise get a 3 to 2 prong adpt.

3. Check your appliances that you want to charge...some of them are already either 110 or 220 i.e. laptops, some video lights i.e Sola, etc. HOWEVER plug in's in a room are limited so you'll need power strips to plug in several devices. And remember most of you will be sharing with others so that means even fewer plug in outlets.

4. Read my comments in the Luggage thread/topic. THEY WILL WEIGH YOUR CARRY ON'S. I have more details in that topic.
