As soon as all the lucky divers recover from their trip to The Galapagos, I hope they'll post here so we can all drool, moan, ooh and ahh, and in general just be envious while reading all the details of their trip of a lifetime!

HINT HINT HINT :lmao:

And oh, yes, the Gallery for photos of this special trip is HERE! [please post something in there!]

Recover is a good word...after 10 days being gone...11 for me its been hard to hit the ground running with the 2010 schedule. However I will say this...

AMAZING...BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS...SURPASSING MY WILDEST DIVING DREAMS....and that just touches the tip of the iceberg.

And speaking of icebergs...I think the ONLY thing we did not see was penguins....

HAMMERHEADS.....HUNDREDS OF THEM!
Spotted Eagle Rays....HUNDREDS OF THEM!!
MANTA RAYS...LOTS OF THEM!!!
Golden Rays...Several schools of them!!!!
WHALESHARKS...5 or 6 or them at least!!!!!
Nublia Rays....TONS OF THEM!!!!!!!
STINGRAYS...LOTS OF THEM!!!!!!!!
Seals and Sea Lions DIVING WITH US!!!!!!!!!
SEA HORSES...SEVERAL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!
Free Swimming Eels of ALL VARIETIES...TONS OF THEM EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
FROGFISH...ONE!!! But hey it was still one! :lmao:

Oh yeah...and above water....100+ year old Tortouses, BOOBY BIRDS, Frigates, SEALS & SEA LIONS, Lizards, and SO MUCH MORE!!!

And MORE and MORE and MORE!!!! But I'll let the others share some of what I missed! :lmao:

Where is everybody? The Galapagos trip was FABULOUS! It was the best SCUBA diving of my life, and I really enjoyed meeting everyone, too. My favorite thing was diving with the whale sharks and sea lions at Darwin's Arch...firsts for me. WOW, what a fantastic time!

Kamala really outdid herself on this trip. It was first-rate all the way! :birthday:

As of last count, we had over 16,000 pics. The only ones I don't have are from folks not in the class who said they would follow up by sending some...and those who were in the class who didn't have a chance to offload the last day of pics. So, as soon as I receive the latest pics, I'll edit, assemble, and wrap up a nice photo/video presentation.

The pics are AMAZING. Some are National Geographic quality...seriously. Attached is an example of one of my favorites, taken by Kamala's hubby Bill!

Yes it has been a super trip...not easy diving but fabulous!!! I would like to thank Kamala personaly for helping me ... the currents where very strong and the water cold and salty which means tons of lead... I felt safe even under those conditions and enjoyed every dive I made!!!The group was great and I had the benefit of being able to speak french with Colette and Stephane... some jokes where impossible to translate...sorry...
I don't have any pictures but I would like to have some from the group. Did you get a copy of the video Peter did? I did not receive my copy even if I paid for it???? Liz
Formerly 'Liz' but wow 'Lady Liz' thanks to Stephane & Galapagos!

Yes the water was a bit saltier which threw most people's weighting off a bit and that usually translates to struggling a bit as a result. However Liz did awesome...and the currents weren't too bad once you got the hang of them. The idea is to get down fairly quickly and sit on a rock or hang on and watch the show. We did not usually have to move around too much as the DM's did a great job of dropping us right where we needed to be. But if another group came along...then sometimes you had to move since the animals moved due to the motion of the other group.

Of course if you wanted to see any of the whalesharks up close and personal you needed to swim with them/after them which usually was more work than I wanted to do. I just enjoyed them as they swam overhead of me or dipped down around me.

I hope that people get their heads above water after this trip and get a chance to post some pictures! They are simply amazing!!! kamala

Kamala, I have a lot of great pics from the trip, but a few people promised to send me their pics from the last day (and some from earlier). I haven't heard from anyone, so I guess everyone is just super busy. Once I get the pics, I have a much nicer show than just an online gallery. I'll include videos, too. Thanks. I hope to hear from everyone soon!

Please post your pictures here in this special gallery we have set up for this trip! :D

I tried several times to post pics in the SD Gallery, but I had no luck. I will just use the outside source unless you have suggestions as to why pics will not upload. By the way, Peter mailed out the DVDs yesterday. He was busy on the ships and with training, but he apologized and said that he managed to get to a shop in town to print labels and such, and to expect the DVDs in the mail soon!
