COMPENSATION RANGE: 70k – 85k
CLASS: Exempt

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reports to the SUAV Group Finance Manager and is responsible for Group level financial analysis and planning. The position will be located at AeroVironment’s 900 Enchanted Way facility in Simi Valley, CA with some travel to the Corporate office in Monrovia.
This position is responsible for Group and Project level financial planning, analysis, management of all aspects of cost proposal process for manufacturing, engineering and logistics activities. Specific responsibilities include a) preparation of monthly Project reports and forecast. b) ensure accurate and timely invoicing is prepared, c) analysis of monthly actual results vs. plan, d) Communicate contract deliveries with Operations, e) preparation of weekly actuals analysis for the SUAV GM, f) Preparation of cost and pricing proposals, g) Develop cost and pricing models, h) Support proposal audit and negotiations, i) Maintain accessible and auditable records.


QUALIFICATIONS AND NECESSARY BACKGROUND:
• BA in Finance/Accounting and a minimum of 5 years experience in financial planning and control in a government contracting and manufacturing environment.
• Experience in costing and pricing complex manufactured products for military contracts.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems and Reporting.
• Knowledge of Government Cost accounting principles desirable.
• Must be a reliable self-starter and team player with good oral and written communications skills, and capable of working with various functional organizations to coordinate inputs and information.
• Should have current expertise in: 1) MS Office Suite, 2) MSProject/or Fast Track.
• Basic understanding of cost accounting principles and FAR is desirable.
