Michigan licensed Paramedic for 21 years, RN for 8 years, diver for 2 years. I just finished my PADI Advanced Open Water cert last weekend. I would love a trip with nursing and/or EMS CE's.

Oregon licensed MD x 20 years. Diving > 25 yrs. Number of dives: Lots. Looking for ways to combine the two. Certified: AOW, Rescue Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Nitrox, Dry Suit (in process).

I applaud your desire to assist fellow divers with your medical knowledge. I think DAN has a physician referral service, you may want to contact them.
Personally, having dealt with both DAN and my personal Dr. all issues will come down to one question. Is it alright for me to dive? Are you able to provide an answer, which will be helpful to the diver, without exposing yourself to possible liability?

Isn't that the problem, though? To have to worry about liability? I just want to take care of my patient!! That being said, I AM looking for a "travel medicine" course to brush up on some of the skills needed to take care of common problems in remote areas. My gynecology and surgical skills may be severely needed in villages and towns in short supply of medical care, but maybe not so much on a dive trip.
