There is one more story we HAVE to tell and that is the story of the ancient Indian love beads. The story goes that ancient Indians would place a love bead on the mat of thier spouse to indicate that they wanted to make love that night. In the morning the bead would be replaced until the next time one or the other wanted amor.

Our divers had so much fun looking for and finding love beads of all sizes and shapes including ones that clearly must of been 'orgy' beads as they had so many holes in them!

While we are not clear exactly how the legend holds up for modern day divers...we clearly felt the need to collect these articles of love 'just in case'...so here is mine!

Hhmmm . . . I'm noticing a parallel between love beads and M&M's -- appears the ones associated with :cheerleader: are green. Interesting.

Looks like a fantastic trip! I might have to get myself on one of those after all.

Yes there is a correlation...seems you need the green m&m's first and THEN hope you have found a Love Bead so that you can complete the process! :D

p.s. according to legend...green m&m's are no longer effective when tossed overboard...by the time they hit the deco bar they are no longer green! :cheerleader:

As for you joining us on a trip to the Cooper River...I'd be THRILLED if a local legend such as yourself were to join one of our trips. Bill OTWDiver is already working on the tides schedule for 2007 so that we can plan our trips for next year soon! You have a standing invitation to join us! We are quite lucky from what OTWDiver tells us! -ww

OTWdiver thanks for the backround on the river. Sounds like one more to add to the list of places I need to go.

I think you are right! OTWDiver is already looking at the 2007 tide tables and it is looking like the first few days in August will be PRIME for perfect tide condition diving!

As soon as he can confirm dates we'll get a trip on the books for next year...and if it fills out quickly we might try to get another one on as well! -ww

Hey OTW, do you think that hurricane Ernesto passed close enough to the Cooper River to uncovered any "new treasures?"

The heavy rain might have helped but I think it would take a little more tidal surge to make a big difference all at once. Remember the river changes direction every six hours. That alone will bring out new artifacts and fossils for our next trip. Four current changes a day translates into a lot of change of the bottom of the river. Change is good for the river and her ability to replenish the dive sites. We are already planning the trip for next season in August. :) Keep a look out.

Thanks everyone for another great trip on the Cooper river . This was my first trip with Singledivers.com and i will do it again . Kamala (energizer bunny) is as good a host and cook as Bill is a Captain . These two are at the top of their game in what they do . Thanks Kamala for giving me a good roommate(scubashaffer)and all the information about nutrition , and Bill as always for putting me in the right spot on the river and keeping everone safe . I would also like to thank Grag for all his help in the river and on the boat , im looking forward to doing some spearfishing with you and Capt. Tom in the near future .

I consider the Cooper as my best diving destination . Its an underwater musum that has something for every diver and i intened on doing my part in removing every bottle that i possibly can .

PS. Sorry i took so long to post this . I can navigate a river much better than the internet .

Thanks for a great trip !!

You can find yourself a 250 year old bottle but you have problems with the internet. That says a lot. Good to have you on line and glad you figured this thing out, :fish: . :)
