I agree with Dr Bill. These are some good stories, but there are two types...

I really like Walter's 'pneumatic assisted evac' idea, I'm going to try it. I do not like to restrict fluid intake at all, as dehydration is thought to be a primary contributing factor to DCS. Also, if you're peeing clear it doesn't smell, at least not before you get home to wash it.
Funny though, I've never peed in my drysuit. I don't feel the urge to go nearly as bad... although there have been some mad jumping and hopping sessions after a two and a half hour deco before... LOL. I can't bring myself to install a P-valve, but I've heard of wearing Depends diapers.

What is succinylcholine? Not that it was me, I'm just curious.

a depolarizing muscle relaxant which causes total skeletal muscle paralysis within 30 seconds of administration.

it does NOT cause unconsciousness...so you KNOW you can't move...or breathe.... :cool1:

I'm not in the medical field, but just as a WAG, if someone can't breathe, doesn't unconsciousness soon follow?

The other issue is the slimy feeling.

Walter [/QUOTE]
That doesn't sound like pee, it sounds like a discharge :cool1: , I think you need to talk to TF or Doc about some antibiotics to clear that up.

But EbonyMermaid, I only administer to marine algae, invertebrates and fish! I'm not THAT kind of doctor (and my bank balance proves it), although some have said I'm good at sexual healing (your mileage may vary).

There's no peeing in a drysuit! Holy Cow! Since that was my exposure protection of choice for the first 15 years of diving, it is now a habit. But there have certainly been some desparate peel downs upon surfacing! Also, no checking the prop in the cold PNW water, either. It's either "give me that bucket" or hit the gas and get me to a bathroom NOW!

In tropical, it's a bit easier to "check the prop", sans wetsuit.

In a wetsuit, if nature calls, well.....

But ninety percent of the time, I dive dry and I don't have a pee valve. It is fast run to the head when I get my gear off and I ALWAYS go before the dive (even if I don't think that I have to) if the boat has a head (wet or dry). Thank God that cold water doesn't stimulate bladder function like warm water.

Rabbit,

I fully agree on the coffee cramps and that is one thing that I cannot do even it a small marine head. Then it is a real run when the boat docks!
A person should be judged in this life not by the mistakes that they make nor by the number of them. Rather they are to be judged by their recovery from them.
