Drove to New Orleans to pick-up my Buddy Skye then went on to Dallas to catch a plane to Costa Rica. Once in CR I couldnt find my rental car info so we had two choice's Bus or Taxi. I remember last year where all I had was a backpack ! now between skye and me and all our dive gear it looked like we where moving to CR not just visiting, two large rolling bag's, one large rolling duffle, and two backpacks and that was justs Skye's stuff (Just Kidding :diver: anyway this was way to much stuff for a already crowded bus so we took a taxi to tamarindo 60 bucks for a 60 mile ride. now the taxi ride was something out of a Action Movie !!!. once at the hotel we where greeted by the staff warmley because I had meet them last year and made some good friends there. now porters took the bags to the room and we followed, once there i made a few phone calls to the rental car place and a friend in CR and of course the Dive Op. we made plans to dive the next morning at 7am. but we put our swim suits on and made our first dive that afternoon in the pool at the hotel :). the next morning I got up early and went down to get some of that CR coffee that I love soooo much. I came back to the room later and woke skye up and we got ready to do our first dive's Yeepppy. the dive op picked us up at the hotel and there was already 5 divers in the van. we where told that 4 of the diver's where newbie's and they where going out on a boat of there own and skye and a lady from argentina and I where going out on a boat by ourselves with the captain and crew of course. so we headed out for the catalina Ilands and our first dive was on elephant rock. the vis was not that great because a storm surge had stirred up the waters pretty good from the week before and they where having a bit of Red Tide also in the area :( our first dive was about 80 ft deep and plenty to see also Fish Fish Fish everywhere!. dive 2 was at Cupcake iland and the deepth was 60 ft again big schools of Fish everywhere. the next day we decided not to dive and let the vis clear-up alittle and secured our rental car and drove around the country alittle to see all the great things that CR has to offer. our next dive was out at the catalina's again this time it was (blank rock? 65 ft) and there we saw our first shark of the trip it was a little nurse shark Yeeeppy. and our next dive was on dirty rock 60 ft and there the vis was great!!! lobsters, fish, sea creature's galore!!!. took the next day to travel about CR again. there's a volcano and hot springs and clear rivers that you can go rafting on. one day we drove from the Pacific ocean to the Gulf of Mexico/Atlantic by car in the same day. we stayed away from the big resturants and choose to eat at local place's and the food was great and not expensive. our next dive was on dirty rock again where just a few days before had a great dive and good vis. I had been taking pic's the whole time on every dive if it was a good shot or not. alot of the time I just stuck my camera into a opening in the rocks and started snapping away. the flash from the camera brought out the curious fish. we dove, drived. and dined What a Blast we had. ( this is just the tip of the iceburg on all we got ourselves into )

Skye added her two peso's to my dive report.

I drove to New Orleans to pick up my buddy Skye then drove to Dallas to catch a plane to Costa Rica. Once in CR I couldnt find my rental car information so we had two choices the bus or taxi. I remember last year when all I had was a backpack. Now between Myself, Skye and all our dive gear it looked like we where moving to CR not just visiting, two large rolling bags, one large rolling duffle, and two backpacks and that was just Skyes stuff (only kidding :) ) anyway this was way to much stuff for an already crowded bus so we took a taxi to Tamarindo 60 bucks for a 60 mile ride. The taxi ride was something out of an Action Movie !!!. (Skyes first taxi ride, completed with her eyes mostly closed and I'm still wearing the marks from it.) Arrived at the hotel where we were greeted warmly by the staff because I had met them last year and made some good friends there. The porters took the bags to the room and we followed, once there I made a few phone calls to the car rental place and a friend in CR and of course the Dive Op. We made plans to dive the next morning at 7am, but decided to test the tropical waters sooner, so we put our swimsuits on and made our first dive that afternoon in the pool at the hotel. I've actually had bigger bandages then the bikini Skye was wearing :). The next morning I got up early and went down to get some of that CR coffee that I love soooo much. I came back later and woke Skye up, we got ready to do our first dives Yippy. The dive op picked us up at the hotel and there were already 5 divers in the van. We where told that 4 of the divers where newbies and they where going out on a boat with their instructor. Skye, another blonde lady from Argentina and I where going out on a boat by ourselves with the captain and crew of course. (Yep, my luck still running true, had two blonde cuties to entertain.) We headed out for the Catalina Islands and our first dive was on Elephant Rock. The vis was not that great because a storm surge had stirred up the waters pretty good from the week before and they where having a bit of Red Tide in the area :( our first dive was 86 ft deep with plenty to see also Fish Fish Fish everywhere!. Dive 2 was at Cupcake Island and the depth was 60 ft again big schools of fish everywhere. The next day we decided not to dive and let the vis clear-up a little so we secured our rental car and drove around the country a little to see all the great things that CR has to offer. Our next dive was out at the Catalina's again, this time it was (blank rock? 65 ft) and there we saw our first shark of the trip it was a little nurse shark Yippy. 2nd dive was at Dirty Rock 60 ft and there the vis was great!!! lobsters, fish, sea creature's galore!!!. Took the next day to travel across the continent., Yes across, two oceans in one day (Reminder don't let Skye try to read the map!). there's a volcano and hot springs and clear rivers that you can go rafting on. We stayed away from the big resturants and chose to eat at local places the food was great and inexpensive. Our next dive was at Dirty Rock again where just a few days before had a great dive and good vis. I had been taking pic's the whole time on every dive if it was a good shot or not. alot of the time I just stuck my camera into a opening in the rocks and started snapping away. The flash from the camera brought out the curious fish. we dove, drove and dined. What a Blast we had. ( this is just the tip of the iceburg on all we got ourselves into :D

AWESOME....nice Mike. Glad you and Skye had a great time.
