2006 DAN Internship Highlights: Interns with SingleDivers.com Divers

Last Updated: 9/19/06 7:03:28 PM

While the summer wanes, so does our interns’ time in the field. Time does fly when you’re having fun, as these students can attest. They all have done a superb job in collecting dive profiles for Project Dive Exploration, whileothers were learning the intricacies of laboratory studies in the hyperbaric chamber. They have each collected plenty of dive profiles for PDE, and they're sure to have lots of great stories to share.

One such tale involves two of our interns, Juliana Belloti, from São Paulo, Brazil, and Heather Held, from College Station, Texas. They had the opportunity to dive with with the group from SingleDivers.com during one of their summer trips to the North Carolina Coast. SingleDivers.com is a group founded by diver Kamala Shadduck to provide dive opportunities to single and married but buddyless scuba divers.

Just wanted to point out the :) article in the current issue of DAN's Alert Diver magazine (November/December 2006) to everyone.

Make sure you check out pp. 12-13 for the article on SD.com and Cochran Computers partnering with DAN in their ongoing research efforts!!

Terri

I got my alert diver to in the mail and saw the article. Also got surprized when they used my group photo from the trip in the article. To me this is cool because this would mean that this is the second tearsheet for my portfolio i have gotten from this trip.

Hey I just got my copy in the mail and read it! You would think that SC would be CLOSER to NC than WA or TX but I guess not! :cool1:

The article was great and it certainly reflected our wonderful trip with the DAN interns. They clearly represented DAN well and are great additions to the SD team.

Kudos to 'Tooth for the inclusion of his photo in the article.
