Happy new year Tolly,
Well there is really a few but the one mistress which keeps calling me is the silfra in Iceland. This is without a doubt my dream trip.

During the recent weeks, we've seem to have lost a thread or two. I know we had a 2006 trip wish list somewhere (I posted in it), so I thought I would start a new one:

Where do you want to go?

Chuuk/Truk Lagoon - rumor has it 30 wrecks in 6 days......
BVI /Tortola - aye matey, time to get yer pirate on.....
Greece/Turkey - hmmm...may be some ancient ancient greco ruins?
Sea of Cortez - seals, seals and more seals....oh yeah, sharks too....
Great Barrier Reef
Great Whites and Safari in South Africa
Thailand

Any place else?

I really was heading north, I just went the long way around.

Hey gang!

What other activities do you like to do on a dive trip? Shop? Sightsee? Hike or trek into the wilderness/jungle/bush? Do you like to participate in cultural events/activities? Want lots of free time? How about trying something new...afterall its vacation right? Or do you just prefer quiet time to read, relax, catch some rays and recharge the battery? Or do you need some of everything?

Tell us what you like to do on dive trips and what you'd like to see on future SD dive trips in addition to awesome diving and the BEST single and buddyless diving companions to be found anywhere! :teeth:

p.s. I had the idea of doing a tandem skydiving jump to start off a trip or SD event (completely optional of course) as many of the world's best skydiving destinations also happen to be world class scuba destinations. Anyone want to experience the ultimate 'rush' (skydiving) along with the ultimate 'relaxation' (scubadiving) together on one trip or SD event???

Hey Wreck Wrench, how about a trip to bonaire, or curacao ,aweek would be lovely, the gang I met for the florida feb. dive was a terrific bunch, and we had a short conversation about these 2 destinations and everybody was real excited. What do you think??? all the best Jerry aka fdnyjery

Anywhere there are dolphins to swim with. Roatan I heard is one popular place. Not sure of others that offer a high probability of this. :diver:

The big "O"

Oriskany Online Reef Project

Oriskany is due to be sunk 5/17, 22 miles off Pensacola.

Rec diving from the top of the mast (60') to the flight deck (120') - btw, if you've never seen a carrier, the island is a huge structure, and will be a lot of fun - probably some easy swim throughs like the bridge.

Tech diving below the flight deck - bottom is at 220' - don't know what the policy will be on penetrating.

Could be a fun weekend trip.

No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

Grenada would be a good destination.
The Andrea Doria of the Caribbean lies in 165' of water. She is the Bianca C. The reading on this wreck is more than colorful and the possibilities to do a Andrea Doria type dive in warm water is very inviting. I wander if anyone can tell me about the condition of the boat and if going inside is allowed.

Kamala/Kim - I was reading on EV site about the Austrailia trip - and I am a little concerned about the medical requirements...............could you take a look at the site - as I read it - having type 1 insulin depend diabetes I would have to have a physical THERE before I got on the boat to have a scuba doc certify me "fit to dive" - and what if he DOES not find me "fit to dive" after checking me over for 15 minutes?? This has me a little concerned - any help would be appreciated. :P

Not sure that is just EV. I heard somewhere else that Austraila can have much stricter medical restrictions than we have - hard to beleive with law suit happy environment, that ANYONE could be stricter than the US.

Any more word on dates for these trips, I know I'm asking way in advance but for those of us that want to cash in frequent flyer miles we will need a long lead time.

Yes you can find small stuff such as floor tiles, glass from portholes and even some porcelain. We are looking at a trip this fall...half techie and half recreational! You'll be able to do ALL WRECK, ALL REEF and some wreck and some reef! Cool huh??? :fish2:
