End of the year dive! Let’s get in a couple dives before 2006 is no longer. And the best way to dive the Pacific Northwest during the Winter is by boat!!

Bandito Charters Information:

Bandito Charters is one of our wonderful Puget Sound dive charters! All Bandito boats have an enclosed cabin area with heat for the cooler times of the year, and a head. All boats are Coast Guard Inspected vessels with all the equipment required by the Coast Guard for a vessel of that size on the inland waters of Puget Sound. Each boat is equipped with an Oxygen kit for dive emergencies. All boats are wet boats - you can wear your exposure suit throughout.

Lunch of soup, sandwiches, and snacks are included.

NOTE - unlike most dive charter areas, Pacific Northwest dive charters DO NOT provide tanks and weights. Divers are responsible to provide all personal equipment.

Point Defiance departure dock directions: <-- note, this is a departure location change from Johnny's Seafood dock many of you have grown used to departing from.

From I-5: From I-5, take Exit 132 (the Highway 16 / Gig Harbor Exit). Take Highway 16 to the 6th Ave. Take a LEFT on 6th Ave. and get into the Right lane to take a RIGHT onto Pearl Street. Take Pearl St. North to the stop sign before the Point Defiance park entrance. Follow the Ferry signs down the hill bear to the right of the park toward the ferry terminal, but don’t get in the ferry line. Proceed down the hill past the ferry lines to the docks on the right side of the Ferry landing. Unload at the docks and then pass back across the Ferry lines to the public parking section of the large lot by Anthony’s at Point Defiance Restaurant.

Click here for a Point Defiance area street map.

Payment Information:

2-tank dive - $70 (this doesn't include tip for Bandito crew - it is customary to tip $5 per dive)
YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR SPOT BY 11/29/06
Click here to purchase your spot online (note you are diving with Single Divers).

General Reminder:
Each diver is personally responsible for dive planning and safety. Dive site briefings are intended as a general overview only and not to be used in place of your own dive planning or for strict navigation purposes. In other words, be a responsible respectful diver.

DG ~ Whooo hooo.. always good to share a dive site/boat with you.

Add two more to the list. I think I have recruited 2 of my dive buddies to join us.

Tim and Kirsten ask to join the party.

Poor Rick and RJ. They will have a boat full of their favorite divers.

It will be worth showing up just to watch the abuse GG has to take from the boat Captain Rick.

(long story that starts with last time I was on Rick's boat ) :teeth:

This will be a fun dive trip.
For anyone who has not dove with Bandito Charters you are in for a treat.

For anyone who has dove with either DG or myself...
The laughs alone are worth more than the $70 boat charge. :cheerleader:

hmmm....will it be accessible that late into the season? And 42? That sounds a bit warm - my money is on a solid 38 degrees. :)

Bandito boat diving is fabulous. Most dive are live boat drops. Depths often depend on the diver's skill level as many of the dive 1 sites can accomodate above and below 60'. Dive 2 sites are often 40-60' ranges simply because there is so much to see at those depths on the dive 2 sites, such as Z's Reef, Sunrise, The Barges, North Wall...etc.

The water will be warmer, lunch provided, and laughter a garauntee...sure you don't want to change your plans..... :D

I will sweeten the deal.
Due to my last "trip" with Bandito ~ I am bringing a dessert to share.

Some might call it a bribe to make sure Rick allows me on the boat. :)
I prefer to call it a treat to share with my new and old dive buddies.

I won't say what it is but I can promise it is tasty and from the oven. :D

cookies, pie, brownies.. hard to say just what will make its way on the boat.

true it will be in the 30's, tried two weeks ago on the one weekend per year the resort is on vacation. Its accesable year round.

I will diffanently make the next Bandito; with little more notice. I need a place to sleep though, round day trip from eugene seems like a loong day.

I'll let you in on a secret....if you want to score major points with Rick show up with Mr. Christie's Fugeeo cookies(doubble stuff even better). Now the catch, they are not avalible south of the 49th as a rule. There might be a specialty store or importer avalible? If anyone lives close to the border a quick hope across is also an option.
Of course there is the internet....

If I had only known about these before today I could have had my son run across the border and get me a few packs. :D
I wonder if he will be back down before Dec 3?

Thanks for the tip. :P

Any ideas on which dive sites might be hit? That could help some of us who may be on the fence make the decision to get off the fence.

Rick always has several suggestions the morning of the dive.
Bases on currents and skill level of the divers on board.

He does allow the divers to have some say if he feels the currents are good for the site and the divers will not be diving outside the groups skill level.

He frequently dives us on North Wall, KVI Tower, Z's Reef, Sunrise to name a few.

What sites were you wanting to dive?
