I suggest you stop by Seven Seas Scuba and say hi to the gang.
There are a few more of us up North.
Its common to head to the Seattle area when you plan on diving.
Hood Canal is another popular choice for the Portland/Vancouver crowd.
Definately will want to get the drysuit back out. Water temps last Sat were a balmy 53

There is a great group of divers in your area that are always doing things it seems....
PNW is on my list of places I would love to visit
Dive girl is the one to fill you in on all the good spots, watch for the monthly happy hours and dives they put together....
Yeah like Wenchie said..maybe we will come visit!

Don't confuse Vancouver, WA with Vancouver, BC. 305 miles apart.

Looking at your avatar ~ first thing you will need to buy from Seven Seas is a hood.53 degress?!?! That's a bit different than the 80 degrees we see in Mexico. I actually took my Rescue class in a 45 degree lake, so I am sure I will be fine.
I will be sure to stop by Seven Seas after I get settled into the new place.
Thanks for the info!
Gloves if you don't already have some.
A nice big light is another purchase ~ I recommend a canister type.
With those things and a drysuit ~ No one will know that you are use to warm Mexican waters...
Oh and don't scream like a girl when the cold water first hits your face.
The screams always gives the warm water divers away.

My bad. I should have probably stated Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR for those that are not familiar with the area.
I picked up a hood when I bought the dry suit. I use canister lights for my video lights, so I am okay there, too. Speaking of which, what's the viz like up there? Any chance a guy could get some decent footage (aside from my lack of skills as a videographer, anyway)?Looking at your avatar ~ first thing you will need to buy from Seven Seas is a hood.

I will probably need to upgrade my gloves and pick up some thermals, though.
ROTFLMAO. I promise will do my best to act like a manly man.Oh and don't scream like a girl when the cold water first hits your face.

Oh, and even though I am not in BC, everyone is welcome to come visit. I love company.

You know, those of us up here in BC are also very welcoming! Just ask Dive_Girl.

You did say Vancouver, WA. It was others who probably weren't aware of the two Vancouvers that I was addressing. I don't know if there's any diving in the Columbia River?

Right on!...to the green, wet, tree-laden, cool in the summer, mild in the winter, amazing in the spring and fall, only a couple hours from the ocean city that is Vancouver, WA.
