........ I turned around, looked down, and I swear, she was coming straight for me, not 10' from me. I was staring face to face with a whale shark. She swam right past me. I reached out and touched her side. I swam with her as far as I could, I got to see her completely from one end to the other. Magical, amazing, there aren't words adequate to describe those few short minutes. But I know it's something I will never forget. And it was right here in my backyard. What a weekend, it's going to be hard to top that. Night diving, the Oriskany with amazing viz, an old favorite wreck, and then a whaleshark. You just can't ask for more than that. :)

I knew I wanted to go to Pensacola!!!! I saw it in a Dive magazine and it sounds like a really cool place to dive! That experience is out of this world and something I hope every diver gets to experience! Even though they are harmless beautiful creatures, you are very brave for swimming right along side of it! I know something that large would shake me up a little...probably not enough to get me out of the water though! :)

:) :fish: :D :2cool: :2cool:

WOW!! That sounds like an amazing experience. Wish I lived in your backyard. :D

It was - and you have a free place to stay anytime you want to come visit my backyard. I'm still regretting not jumping off that cliff with you in Grenada. You're still my hero! LOL.

I may have to take you up on your offer! I'm not sure you should make me your hero, my tail bone is still sore from hitting that water so hard! :lmao:

You definitely do! PM me anytime you want to come down. I'll give you a personal tour of the Oriskany. :lmao:

We also need to plan some day trips around here for "local" SD divers (I count you in on that, local is a relative term :D ). Would you be interested?
As for me, I'm feeling pretty scubalicious.

You definitely need to put it on you list of places to go. And I will glady take you under my wing and protect you from the vultures. :lmao: You are absolutely adorable and I am getting the biggest kick out of watching the number of views and posts steadily rise on your thread. My daughter is about your age and all of her friends love to hang out with me too (lots of cute guys your age too) and several of them dive. So if you make it down here when they're all home from school, I find you some great dive buddies.

In the meantime, maaaybee you should take your Dad with you to that first SD HH. :P

Welcome to SD! I hope to get to dive with you soon!

Yes, I would be interested! It will especially be great to have a tour guide along who is familiar with the area. I'll be starting my Advanced Open Water class the end of July, so I will be ready to get back in the ocean.

Cool. I'm here most of the time and dive almost every weekend. Any time you want to come down and need a dive buddy, just let me know. :D I'll keep you posted if anything develops on getting some SD'ers together for a local dive.
