Dr. B, I'd suggest a few shakes of habanero oil in whatever you're cooking for them. That oughta keep 'em hot enough.

Just got back from three days of diving and found a message on my answering machine from the woman I'm to cook dinner for tomorrow night. She is bringing her "ex" boyfriend with! She knows I'm interested in her (but would not act while she was with him) and made a point of telling me just before I invited her that they had broken up. Although disappointed, I must admit that I'm mildly amused as well!

You've got to be kidding me. Did you tell her she could invite others or did she just invite her ex on her own?

No it was supposed to be just the two of us! I think she sounded nervous on her voice mail message and my guess is they got back together over the weekend. Life can be amusing. I guess I don't need to worry about keeping this "relationship" HOT!

Well, if I understood women I would offer some advice but this one is way out of my league. All I can say is sorry buddy. Good luck.

Ok, did I miss something??? I thought this was to be a "date". Who does that????

No wonder I always hear guys saying they don't understand women. Frankly, I don't understand that one. :welcome: Maybe there is more to the story....

So are you still cooking dinner for them???

Yep, I did. despite what I had hoped was to be a different set of circumstances, I actually enjoyed spending time with and getting to know both of them better. I was a very gracious host and didn't even put the rat poison in his food. Yeah, some of my friends said I was nuts for not canceling, but I'm just that kind of guy. No wonder I don't get dates. Good guys finish last (but girls, if you really knew what that meant...)

Let's get back to topic... how do you keep a real relationship HOT? Some day within the next few decades (maybe in the nursing home) I may need that information.

Whipped cream, sunday afternoon, and a hammock chair. Just a thought or two.

One of my favorite tricks was to leave a trail of rose petals into the bedroom, no lights, lots of candles, some scented, and spread some around on a nice set of satin sheets, which can be had very cheap on the internet. If I had one of those jacuzzi tubs, so much the better, but this worked pretty well.

On the intelectual side, look at her when she talks, and every once in a while when the Mets are losing I will turn the game off when she wants to talk. Not interested in either but it makes her happy :P

Nope, I keep it the same, I'm a creature of routine.
