Be gentle folks - she's new....
Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

Darlin', that does sound like it was funny to watch. I believe Don is referring to the fact that lots of folks are philosophically opposed to feeding fish.

I bet that was funny when the fish collided. You can laugh thru a reg, too - as well as puke as needed.

Teasing a little with ya, hon. I'm mostly against feeding fishes - especially other members of the system, but this will certainly vary with different locations. We seem to view our crawdads as mascots at Santa Rosa NM.

Yeah I see that now..didn't realize I was affending people! thank you very much for that info about puking! I know that you can laugh..cause I do often!
Why dive if you're not having fun right?

A catfish, essentially, standing on it's tail. Swimming through the P1 cavern at Peacock Springs State Park, I swam past a catfish I thought was dead. It was just there, next to a rock. Tail in the dirt, head to the sky, not moving, whiskers spread out. As I passed it and my buddy neared it, you could see the gills moving.
I don't know if it was playing "dead" or what it was doing, but it was some of the most odd behavior I'd seen.
Oh, and I avoid feeding fish whenever possible.

Didn't we cover that in your heartburn thread? Maybe not. If heartburn leads to a puke diving, you can puke thru your reg. But your OW Inst probly taught you that.thank you very much for that info about puking! I know that you can laugh..cause I do often!
I took some dry cat food down on a dive off of Belize one - wanted to attract pretty fish for pics. Instead, the triggers and barracuda ran them all off. One two-foot cuda followed me around for the rest of the dive. That's when I stopped feeding fish while diving.
Feeding fish from a boat is sometimes needed, and we try to be nice to those who have to.

I was at Dutch Springs the other day, and really my favorite thing to do there is find crayfish and feed them to the fish. I found one and threw it out and two fish collided!! Right into each other!!! It was pretty funny! Just wanted to share that!
Hey Miss Ocean. It was good to see you and your dad up there yesterday. Maybe next time we'll dive together.
I see the posts about feeding fish, which is probably bad practice in most cases. But, at Dutch, I think what's done is done. Those fish are so conditioned to getting fed, they get pissed off and start harassing you when you don't feed them. I had four bass follow me halfway across the lake the other day.
BTW, did you see that 2ft rainbow trout? I'd like that fish to feed me.
When you make fish laugh, they can't bite you.

Try using cheeze wiz...the fish love it.
They do, but it's not good for them. If you are going to feed them, feed them things they'd find in their environment, not cheeze.
