For an update, I gave Trace my test yesterday and he said that I passed. Now I'm just waiting for the paperwork to clear the home office.

Congrats on passing the written exam.

Very busy weekend since I did get to do Drews Navigation class and he got to experience the High Five syndrom. We also got through a Wreck diver Specialty and finished an AOW course with non Singledivers Divers. Not all of my students come from here just a good bit of them.

I guess the High Five system beats the group hug and kabuki dance.

Congrats, Bob! Trace really had to work with me to break out of that "PADI mindset" that had been drilled into me by my old PADI instructor, but I really enjoy the freedom to teach that is afforded by PDIC.

Actually I have no intention of giving up my "PADI" training ways. Instead I will incorperate the PDIC ways into my existing metods.

Edit: Actually I like to take other peoples classes so that I can steal/use their ideas/methods and I tell them just that before I get in the class. Always looking to upgrade my methods but i don't want toabandon what has been working for me.

No, Jamie, you already managed a good bit of that on your own. Plus, your experience with wine tasting has allowed you to sip and swirl the Kool Aid at your local dive center without gulping it down and morphing into a DIR Borg. I'm sure you'll give your students the best of all you learned from your PADI days, from your PDIC training, from your future technical endeavors and your own intelligence and creativity. I just had to reassure you that it was okay to teach diving simply and do most of it underwater. That and keep you from getting killed in that line circuit in the park next to your house. Which reminds me, I need to talk to you, and Dr. Bill if he's interested, about coming out to visit and running some tech courses for you guys free of charge since you were such a great student and host during my stay.

I'm glad you got your cards, Bob! Thanks again for taking the class. Grab the Universal Referral Instructor orientation and test forms from George next time you're at LVDC and we'll get that squared away.

So, what you're really saying is that in addition to your existing methods you're going to actually teach them to dive now too? :D

You're next, Vinny. I like you Kool Aid drinkers. But, seriously, that thing we talked about regarding your work experience, I want to discuss that with you when you get back. Hey, want to go to Canada with us and hit some wrecks?

Hey, I still use that line circuit to hang laundry on .... the neighbors ain't so keen on it, but I think it looks quaint. You're always welcome out here, too. You were a most gracious guest and we'd love to have you back.
