I would also add that expecting the person to change to what you want them to be will definitely ruin a relationship. You can't change someone and you can't change yourself for someone - you accept them and appreciate them for what they are and what each brings to the relationship.

I prefer:
to be told the truth
have you accept me for me
allow me to continue to be myself after we agree to be a couple
don't judge the things I have done in the past ~ you weren't there and you have no right
don't try and be who you think I want ~ just be the man I met and fell in love with (if I wanted someone else I wouldn't have said yes to you)
don't forget to appreciate me
don't try and "fix" everything for me ~ I will ask when I need help
I think its very important to treat your partner like you want to be treated.
Michelle ~ you are correct ~ at least for me its the little things that matter most.

All good points. I have to say any of the ones listed would cause me to end a relationship.

You summed it up very well! And if you add all of these up they equal ! If you can't respect one another then you might as well go your separate ways.

Don't give the other person time away from you and everything /one else. Require them to always be at your beck and call at all times.
Agreed!
Not being truthful can wreak havoc too... Being truthful about emotional, financial and all other issues in between is very important IMHO.

Calling every twenty minutes, if it takes me four hours to drive somewhere and you call me twenty minutes after I left, and then again twenty minutes after that chances are I'm still driving.
Maybe she just missed you...or just liked talking to you!
