The new Riverfront Parkway Oyster Bar in Sandy was a great place for our first Happy Hour! It was conveniently located right off I-15 and we think everyone found it. There were a couple of people we were expecting that didn't show, but they didn't call either so we suspect they just forgot. I know I almost forgot, luckily I set a reminder on my phone, since I was sponsoring it!

It was good to see that there are other divers in Salt Lake and I enjoyed hearing about dive spots in Utah I knew nothing about! If anyone else wants to have another Happy Hour, I think everyone who was there will gladly come to another. Let us know!

Sorry we didn't take any pictures like the Colorado group, next time!

Thanks again to all who came!

Evan

Realizing this is a very old post: was this the first and last happy hour? Are there enough Utah people still on board to try again?

As a benign dabbler I thought I'd revive this thread to ask: In a situation such as this, would a HH Planner contact Mel via PM or reply here with data and ideas to help her weigh the feasibility of attempting a UT HH? I only protrude my proboscis into the discussion because time grows short for joining the 05 June mega HH event. :thankyou:

Thank you Brad! Our HH Queen Tammy aka Landlocked Dive Nut is in Fiji with me until the 4th of June so will not be able to assist. However I've asked the mods to break this thread out and put it into and link back to the current Central Region events so that we can garner some exposure for it. We may have an angel or two that will help MelB or myself if I can stay connected long enough with the intermittant access here.

I don't know how this one slipped by me! I'm so sorry for getting to this so late, Mel!

A quick search shows 17 members in Utah. 5 of those members put Salt Lake City in their Profile as their HH city, but it's possible that some of the other 12 are nearby, and I just don't know which suburb cities to search for.....

If you want to see if any are willing to get together, coordinate with me and I can blast an email to the 17 members to test the waters. We can also advertise a for-sure Happy Hour event in a few other places, to try and draw some interest from others who may end up as SD members.
