1. We got married on Sept 14th at the Dallas World Aquarium, spent the next day with family and friends and headed out for an SD Trip to the Philippines the 16th.
2. On the Philippines trip the lovely ladies of SD including Liz, Sunshinediver, Little Mermaid, and Sundiver all helped to do an underwater re-enactment of the land wedding! Oh wait...I can't forget the guys too....OTWDiver, Waterworks, Scubatooth, Greyfins, Robb1420 & WTXBlaze!
3. Got home the 29th/30th, new husband left for SC and then NC on the 1st and I left for NC the 4th.
4. New husband headed for SC the 8th and then off the NY the 9th. I headed for CA for the Great Whites on the 8th and home the 14th of October...one month after getting married.
So what have I learned so far after being married for a month...
Well married life is pretty much the same as single life when you do not live in the same city as your spouse.
My 95 year old grandmother asked my mom if I was going to keep traveling once I got married and my mom said 'yes'. Then she asked if my new husband was going to keep traveling for his work and my mom said yes he has to run dive charters and do commercial jobs...some of which require travel. Then my grandmothers says...well...their relationship is certainly going to remain 'fresh' isn't it?
The marriage certificate came in the mail and yep...its true...I really am married at least as far as the State of Texas is concerned!
Unless I was at sea with no communications...I still spoke to him everyday...usually to start the day and end the day. We plan to keep this special time we spend together now just as special when we are together in the same city, state and house!
Its hard to argue over the phone....its much easier in person. Need to remember that...honey why are talking to me on the phone when I'm just in the other room...honey I'm trying not to argue with you and you know its harder over the phone!
My family especially my mom are still saying...I can't believe you finally got married!
I've discovered that hurdles are a bit easier to overcome with a spouse and big projects are easier to tackle when there are two of you to tear into it. Even daily projects seem a bit easier knowing they get you one step closer to being together or one step closer to your goals.
And I've discovered that married sex is certainly better than non-married sex...
...oh wait...we waited due to being so far apart all the time, some complexity in the early days of the relationship and our joint religious and personal beliefs. But even if we had of prior to the wedding...I am still sure that its much better married! That is when you've married the right person it is!
