I wonder how many people said - where are the Azores? when they read this.

God, I hope none.

Thanks to all who have enlightened me more on the rich history of our Navy and other maritime facts.

Having joined the USN a bit after the transition from sail, my knowledge of Naval History is much weaker than Ray (who was a Midshipman with John Paul Jones), Dr Bill (Ship's surgeon on the Beagle) and Walter (Bushnell's unsung and undocumented designer of "The Turtle")

No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

Well you know what they say; It's the winners who get to write the history books, it makes a much better read when you get to leave out some of the facts!
