Yes she really was all wet all week

Yep and I hated it! :thankyou:

My drysuit was in for new seals and wasn't back in time! I got chilled several times but the old reliable 7mm came thru. Gosh I hate diving 7mm :lmao:

Dry is so much better! :thankyou:

Is that a picture of Wenchie diving in a WET suit!? :lmao:

Am I the only one to feel the earth shift under my feet... ?

...but seriously. Bob if you keep your raw image size to under 2MB then life is good. If you save a pic in BMP format and it is over 2MB then it will not be able to be uploaded. JPG's compress the image, but the uncompressed size is what is taken by the system. 800 X 600 pics should be able to be uploaded easily.

Indeed it is. Don't believe she was particularly happy about it either. :thankyou: :thankyou:

Yeah, the images I was uploading were the same ones I sent up to Flickr, which were at the full 10MP resolution of my camera (3648x2736), which comes out to around 2.5MB in jpeg form. I'll re-export the images from Aperture in a smaller size to get under the 2MB cap. I figured that the size was probably the problem, but I was playing around with the upload around 1-2am, I didn't feel like experimenting to see what size would work, and bed was calling me rather urgently, so I put it off until later.

OK, but it is not 2MB max in JPG format. It is 2MB for the raw image.

A 3648 x 2736 image is 10MB in size. It goes to 2.5MB through JPG compression. So the picture is still 10MB, it is just stored in a smaller size. To explain the process would require rather tedious details about chrominance channels, lossless entropy coding and discrete cosine transformations, but not today...

So to avoid that all you need to do is reduce the pictures to 800 X 600 which should be in the 150-280KB range for JPG format depending on how complex the original image is. :thankyou:

Great images.

A Wet Wench...? The mind boggles... :lmao:

Hi Peoples, Cyber logging on just to let you know the video of the two Morays fighting turned out great and that I will forward CD,s to Barb and my buddy in Colorado .....better known as the Baker! Maybe you guys could post then for me as my Mac hasn,t arrived yet. lol
Had a great time, in the water and above, did it all even got a dance or two in . Was great to meet everybody and look forward to another trip. :teeth:

Joseph

Well, better late than never.... I finally got some time to put something together with Joseph's videos/pics.

Joseph - you say they are "fighting" eels... I say it's a "mating ritual".... then again... I'm a lover, not a fighter! :-D

The quality of your original pics was much better as is the original video. For some reason when I uploaded them to YouTube they view a little "grainy" -anyone else have that problem or an idea to help?

I'll send you the originals on CD. I'll send you a CD too Wench since you mentioned posting a link on the site. Maybe you'll have better luck. I still have more to work on with the pics from the Ruins and the Cave Tubing. Very :lmao:

eel, shark and turtle video-

Other underwater shots:

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season! Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Okay, now that I've hi-jacked the thread for an hour, I'm sittin here watching the snow fall and thinking... man I wish I was diving in the Caribbean right now!

Remember, however, if any of you want to head out to Colorado for snowboarding, skiing, sightseeing or whatever... mi casa es su casa... you are always welcome at my home and I've always got room.

I also wanted to let you all know that our adventures in Belize inspired more than a few new songs as well... but my favorite thus far and the first one I am going to record is "Belize Baby!", so you can all look for an MP3 version in your cyber-stockings before Christmas. It may not be a full-scale production, but I think you'll get the point. Of course my main reason for stating it outloud is that now I HAVE to stick to it or eat humble pie for Christmas!

All dah' best!
Pup

So Pup... how's that Humble Pie!?! My cyber-stocking was empty, no coal, no nothing! :cheerleader: Maybe for Valentines day???? :cool1:

Water was Cool and clear! We had an awesome experience as the two of us and our guide were the only ones in the cave when we went through. Quite peaceful. But we were told after that "we we lucky... the cruise ship wasn't in that day. It would have been a totally different experience". So, if you ever plan to go... schedule accordingly. We just got lucky!
