Ok - who all is packing lights for night dives....? I'm packing everything up and I think I may be able to squeeze in the portable sun and my camera rig and stay under the weight limits for my checked baggage... Gosh, I hope no one is weighing 'personal items'....

Rooming Update:

Typically SD does not give roommate assignments until you get to your destination, because there are always last minute changes and switches. However, on this trip there are a lot of people who are coming and going on dates other than the package dates. In order to make it all work a few people will have different roommates through out the week, and unfortunately a couple of people will need to switch rooms. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, I truly did try to keep it down to a minimum. If you have requested a particular roommate, those requests have been honored, so you already know who your roommate is. For those people who will be switching roommates during the week or switching rooms, I will be sending you a PM shortly to let you know who you will be rooming with and on what days, and if you will need to move. That way, if the people at the desk are confused, at least you will know where you should be. And yes, these rooming assignments are carved in stone!

I have a backup light that I always bring, but was thinking about renting the primary for night dives. How does that usually work? Are the rentals rechargeable, or do you buy the batteries, or something else?

I've never been to this particular dive op, but usually they rent the lights to you with the batteries in them ready to go.
