...if people wanted to go over to Peanut Island for the picnic part...

Is that where the "Kennedy Bunker" is ? I would like to see that some day.

Yes you are right. The "Kennedy Bunker" is visible from the south. You can walk a trail up to it to view. As a matter of fact the whole Island has been improved to include nature trails, camping, a snorkel park, grills, facilities etc. They did a nice job. There is a water taxi that goes to Peanut Island and picks up at the TIKI BAR.... :cheerleader:

:cool1: Darn, i'm sorry I missed you guys for this dive. I did my pool work and nav. dive at the Blue Heron bridge and my plans to get back there a couple of months ago fell through :(. Hopefully you guys will return there soon and I can join in.

I like the idea of having a DOM there and then a picnic Happy Hour. (mental note registered :( )
The water taxi picks up at Phil Foster as well if people wanted to go over to Peanut Island for the picnic part. :D

Hope to catch some of you at the Happy Hour on the 19th and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! :cheerleader:

Susie

BHB was wonderful yesterday. The water temp was 76 and the viz was excellent. We were able to see from one span of pillars to the other. So, viz was an easy 50'. I met up with Jupitermermaid and several friends from the Cocoa/Melbourne area. After the dive, 10 of us went to the Brass Ring for beer and wings.

Zach,
I never did see the Deep Obsession go by. So, I couldn't wave... but I did think get a chuckle at about 1:05 thinking about you and Doug waving at my dive flag. :(

Susie,
I go there often, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to join me.

Al

Thanks Al :D I will definitely have to take you up on that! :(

Sound like this might have to be a topic for discussion at Happy Hour :D
I agree with Zac about Peanut Island. I took my god-daughter and her mom there earlier this year and hadn't even realized that we didn't even make it to the actual lagoon until I was home looking over the brochure we picked up from the park rangers. Turns out we were just snorkeling around in what was a somewhat protected area on the east side of the island :cool1: Oh well, next time. :banghead:

Al, Sounds like you had a great day. You are right! The vis was incredible all week...even at the bridge. Oh, BTW I did wave at you! :2cool: I had the binoculars in one hand looking and waving with the other hand... Woops...who's driving the boat? :cool1:

Sounds like you guys went out. Dean, Shana, Russ, and Susan from Pura Vida were all at the bridge. They cancelled their afternoon dive. But, the Sirena is a much smaller boat than the Deep Obsession.

When we went over the bridge, the ocean looked bumpy. Lots of white caps...

Al

Yupp, Not a good day for students. I'm guessing that is what Dean was doing at the bridge. Must've had a class??

Shana had some Discover Scuba students, Russ had an AOW student, Dean was taking pictures, and I didn't see Susan until everyone was leaving.

Several of the divers who dove with me on Sunday dove New Years Eve and rang in the new year underwater in Jupiter. They said it was great! Ocean laid down for the night. They were all concerned the dive was going to be cancelled. It wasn't!!!
If you're bored diving, then you quit learning...
