It's official..., after almost 4 years of unanswered questions regarding my first undeserved 'hit', and almost 18 months after my second I am one step closer to finally closing this book... After finally getting hooked up w/ a diving doc who actually dove (tech RB Instructor & Cardiologist to boot!) I was able to line up the right tests to confirm my suspicions.... (Thanks Perrone...)
I had a TTE (Transthorasic Echo) done a few months ago... It came back negative... After some subclinical symptoms, I chatted with the doc further and we arranged for a TEE (Transesophegial Echo). The TTE is a simple external sonogram type procedure w/ an IV bubblerun... The TTE involves a wild cocktail of mild sedation. Since the doc is over 4 hours from home, I had to make some special transportation arrangements... Dad flew in last week and we drove up Friday for the procedure, spent Sat diving in Tampa, and visited the manatees this morning...
I'm a little foggy on the procedure, the drugs were working nicely... But, suffice it to say, the doc saw the bubbles on the other side... So, I have confirmation and we'll be setting up the procedure for closure shortly.
Aiming for February, should have me totally out of commission for a few weeks with a return to recreational diving after 2.5-3 months... Should be just in time for a stress free week in Bonaire...
-Tim
On a more funny note.... check out what my 'friends' did to me....

Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

On a side note...what your friends did to you tank is wrong on so many levels. You better post a guard outside your recovery room in case your friends decide to stop by while you're still out.
