They run approx every hour or so until 5:30pm-ish from BZE to San Pedro

This sounds like a great dive. With the crash at Teguc last week I found out that there are only about 50 percent of the flights going out from here. I would not be able to get to San Pedro Sula in time to catch my flight. I would end up having to take leave to get there. I think I am going to save the leave for CUR and Roatan. Thanks for running the numbers for me. The flight in would have only been 295 if I could have made it. Besides I think my normal dive crew would make me buy all drinks on the next trip for ditching them on only a weeks notice when I set this trip up. BUT I SOOO Wanted to go

For those who want to go but can't get a good airfare:

Don't give up just yet...(unless you don't have your passport!)

I did the following search for air to Belize from Austin (as an example) and found it to be regularly fared at $953.

However if you use priceline.com you can offer 60% of the price (meaning 40% off retail) and you have a very solid chance of getting it. Plus they will choose the most direct flights first. You just can't choose departure and arrival times.

TODAY I discovered if you book within 7 days of the trip (which this is) you can offer 40% of the price meaning up to 60% of the ticket price is discounted.

So 40% off $953 is $572 (I paid $700 for my ticket)
And 60% off $953 is $381.

The only other drawback is if you bid too low and they don't accept your bid you can't rebid for 3 days. If they accept your bid you must pay for the ticket.

But if you wanted to go and offered say $450 or $400 which would be close to $450 with the taxes and you got it...you'd be able to join us and pay about half of what most of us paid for our air!

For those who ARE GOING on this trip...IMPORTANT TRIP UPDATE:

1. Right now there are 3 of us unless someone can take advantage of a last minute fare and join us.
2. Shawn has graciously agreed to upgrade to a single room so Stan and I will be roomies! (Stan you lucky dawg!)
3. All names and flight details have been forwarded to the resort so everyone will be listed on the main registration/guest list.
4. The commuter flight will be booked on Monday and those details will be sent to me Monday (no later than Tuesday) and I will forward them to the participants. This will be your travel voucher for the Tropic Air flight. (However you should also be on their main manifest as well.)
5. Right now Stan and I are on the same flight to Belize and Shawn will arrive that afternoon after us. On the return Stan leaves before we do and Shawn and I depart within 5 minutes of each other.
