Im interested in this trip but i really cant commit right now as the crystal ball beyond the end of this month is mostly hazy as there is no definate path yet. maybe after the hazy clears and the path is clear i can commit to the trip as this is one that is on the list of todos (repeatedly)

No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

For those flying in:

Hobby Airport is closer to Freeport, than Bush Intercontinental and usually cheaper, if you can fly Southwest.

Try to get a flight that will get you to Houston around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. That gives you more than enough time to get to the dock. If you get here too early, there really isn't much to do without renting a car, and they won't let you on the boat early.

There is a hotel and resturant close to the dock. That is an option rather than getting a hotel at the airport. You can stay at the hotel in Freeport when you return and get up the next morning and head for the airport, if you get a late morning flight or early afternoon flight out.
