Hi guys!

I had a wonderful Saturday afternoon diving with one of our buddyless members, divegirlzoe, and another friend, Ray.

They were running a tad late, so I set up my beach chair and relaxed with a book while awaiting their arrival. Some of my other friends began to exit the water, so I got a report on conditions.

My buddies arrived, along with Ray's non diving wife, Kay.

We got geared up and I loaned my screen box and beach chail to Kay with the hopes she could relax and maybe find some fossils in the surf zone.

This was Ray's first ever fossil dive and his first dive in a couple years without students. Conditions were perfect for it, flat calm and 15 feet of visibility. The Gulf was a balmy 67° F. Normally, I use a buddy line for this dive, but in these conditions, we didn't need one.

We had a max depth of 18 feet and stayed down for 58 minutes. Ray found a few fossils on his first attempt. Divegirlzoe found 50 shark teeth and one Barracuda tooth. I was able to find 83 shark teeth.

We tried to listen to SCUBA Radio, but were unable to get it on the beach.

Hi DiveGirlZoe...and welcome!!! Why don't you post an intro about yourself in our New To SingleDivers.com section?

Sounds like you all had a lot of fun this past weekend. Maybe you can get Walter to help you figure out what your bone is!

Thanks for the trip report, Walter. Makes me look forward to a Walter-guided dive at VB someday, to find fossils in your backyard. Or wherever else we end up diving together at some point!
