LOL, the diving was great. No big animals but I did run across a bunch of barracuda and a school of squid along with the normal aquatic life you see in Utila. I pushed my RDP to the max and finished up my advanced course while I was in town. The day we tried to catch the ferry to get to Utila the workers were on strike so we lost a day in the water. I am going back week after next to do my Rescue Diver course and try and get closer to 60 dives required to finish DM while I am down here. Jessika pointed me in a couple of directions on where and who to dive with on that one.Jessika is awesome . . . but what about the diving??????????????? I only did one bar day, a buddy of mine from a unit I was assigned to in 1996 is here on Soto Cano and I did not know it. I ran in to him on the street in Utila and we really over did it on Friday night. I missed my dive boat the next morning. He made his but spent most of his time feeding the fish. Turns out we were in the same Hotel and supposed to be on the same boat the next day. Needless to say I did not feel like drinking the rest of the weekend.
Just a side note. If you end up in Utila and eat at a place called, "Bundus" please don't order the "Bundu Scorpion Bowl" thinking that when it says 2-4 that just means one of you because you are bigger than most of the people on the Island and therefore can handle the drink on your own. Let me save you a semi naked swim off the end of a bar peer with three chicks you don't know, you need help with it. Not saying that happend to me or anything just a suggestion.
