Diver's Alert Network (DAN) knows that a common problem new divers face is trouble equalizing their ears. If you're experiencing this, don't worry; you're not alone. Wonderfully, there's a lot of information and help to be had on DAN's website!

DAN encourages divers to read articles on Ears and Diving; the articles linked below appeared in Alert Diver, DAN's award-winning magazine.

Common Ear Injuries
Ear Squeeze: The Most Common Dive Injury
Otitis Externa: Can You Prevent It? The Answer is in the Solution
Ears and Sinuses

Also available to you is DAN's online seminar on Ears and Diving. In it, you'll learn about your ears and how to take better care of them when you are diving. It's based on a presentation by Dr. Frans Cronjé, President of DAN Southern Africa.

If you'd like to talk to a dive medic about possible reasons for your ear issues (or get suggestions on solving the problem), you can additionally call DAN's Medical Information Line at 800-446-2671 or 919-684-2948 (M-F, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ET) or send DAN an email.
