Congrads to your son! Er... I think if he's your SON.... he shouldn't have to wait for YOU to get married! :teeth:

Things happen... his mother who I dated briefly never told me until he was 17

Ya know you're still okay in my book! :taz: ...Things do happen...and I'm sure you've got a wonderful son. :birthday:

I'm still single but...

My son contacted me last week to tell me that he and his long-time GF Mary are moving to Colorado at the end of this month. He had forgotten I was going back east for the holidays in a few days, which only gave me a short time to get over to see him before he left. As you may remember, he got SCUBA certified last summer so I was pleased to have a buddy I could count on for some fun diving. No way he'll get me to dive ice or fresh water lakes out there.

So I rush over to spend two days with him before I have to leave for the holidays and he drops a bombshell on me... he and Mary are getting married in March. Of course I'm happy for the two of them... but shouldn't a son at least wait until his father gets married first???

Probably cause he didn't see marriage in your future ... you are so UNIQUE who know when marriage may happen for you, I'll take a HUG if we ever meet.

Marriage certainly could be in my future, but I'm not planning on it soon (I've heard you have to have a woman in mind unless you mail order a bride from China). A great LTR would be fantastic.

As for my son, since I was never certain he existed (as MY son vs one of the four guys my GF was cheating on me with), I had no opportunity to acknowledge him as my son. His mother was adamant that I wasn't the father, and I didn't see him for nearly 18 years so I wasn't aware he was the spitting image of me at the same age (poor kid).

This post is a bit old, but a co-worker of mine just got married last year at the age of 57. First time for her, second time for him.

My mother passed away several years ago, and my Dad remarried at 72 years old!

I guess it's never too late....or maybe some people just never learn! :D

I don' think we are meant to be alone in this old world....that shows we should never give up hope in finding someone to share life with.

I hope your step mother is good to your father. :cool1:
Handle every stresssful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.
