I took off Friday and spent the afternoon diving with my daughter. Our first dive was a drift on the wreck of the Duane in Key Largo. We did a hot drop on the bow and slowly drifted the 327' wreck and came up the ascent line tied to the stern. Max depth was 110', viz was about 70', water temp was 84, except for a few cold spots near the bottom, and as always, the ship was absolutely covered with schools of fish and several barracuda. One diver reported seeing a bull shark, but we missed it. I've dove this wreck more than 20 times, but it was the first time in the last two years that I did it in the day time. Night dives are incredible on the Duane as the whole side of the ship is lit up by orange cup corals. Still, it was fun to see it in the daytime again.

For the second dive, I took the ball and we did a drift dive on Crocker Wall. Max depth for my daughter and I was 100', but others that weren't diving Nitrox stayed at the top of the wall at about 45'.

On Sunday morning, H2O Addict and I teamed up for two dives for a class doing two of their open water training dives. This was off Miami Beach and viz was only about 20'. We had a group of eight students. Because of the poor visability, it was good practice with navigation. Neat thing was a group of four squid that squirted ink at me as I got close.

I'm dry until Thursday, when I'm doing two night dives.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Agree what a wonderful way to spend a Friday and with your daughter showing her the beauty of the sea.

Trying to whet our appitites for our upcoming trip to the Duane, glen? If so, you've done a darn good job! That's one wreck that I am looking forward to diving!
