So which do you think is easier and why? Snorkeling or Diving?

I personally think Diving is easier and here is why:

1. A bcd works better than a snorkel vest and is more comfortable. Granted its more expensive but its more versatile too!
2. In diving you see more things but I do like just floating around and seeing things vs. swimming. (However to get to good snorkel sites you often have to swim LOTS and that is not as much fun!)
3. Unless you have a dry snorkel, you have to CLEAR your snorkel which sucks.
4. If you are not careful your snorkel top ducks under the water and you end up breathing WATER :teeth: In diving you just breathe air!!! :thankyou:

I can relate! But I thought only DIVE BOATS made you puke...NOT diving itself! LOL!

In many ways its apple and oranges..

Snorkeling requires a mask, fins and snorkel. Put the person in a vest and they are ready to go. No other training is really needed.

Diving requires much more gear and training to do properly. And I don't have to worry about running out of air snorkeling.

In rough seas, clearly for a trained diver, diving is much easier than snorkeling. But if you have someone who hasn't been in the water, snorkeling is easier to get started.

I think that diving is easier (particularly in high seas and/or current). But then I don't hang at the surface much when snorkeling either. :)
