Here's another vote for FaceBook over MySpace. I never had much interest in MS, which to me has the look of a badly (over)done circus poster. I always assumed FB was pretty much the same thing, but then realized otherwise when several of my family members joined. Besides communicating with friends and family, FB has allowed me to connect with several former classmates, coworkers, and students. So I give it a "thumbs up".

I held off on getting a FB account until I met my sister during a Christmas visit and she said all her family pics were there. So I signed up for an account, found a half dozen old friends and here I am a year and a half later still waiting for my sister to approve my original friend request so I can get into the pics. hahaha

I am almost never on FB now. I do have a MS page, but deleted all my 'friends' when Asian strippers started joining my page by the dozens. HR people now use FB and MS (and others) to check on people during the hiring process and having strippers on my pages certainly would not help my chances of getting that dream job. :D
Remember, email is an inefficient communications forum. You may not read things the way it was intended. Give people the benefit of the doubt before firing back... Especially if it is ME...! ;)

Naw. I have no desire to work there... ...anymore... (ahem)

Has anyone ever noticed that the music on home improvement shows and porno's are the same!? Well, that is what I was told anyway... :teeth:

At the request of some former classmates I finally created an account on Facebook. It sure is easy to look up friends, and even family. I just found my nephews and niece on there, and that was pretty cool.

I have had a FB account for 2 years and have found it invaluable to bring some order to my chaotic and scattered life and to reconnect with old friends I had lost touch with due to aforementioned chaotic life. I have some SD members who are FB friends - but like others, all my FB friends are people I actually have met, know and want to remain friends with. I use FB purely for social and Linkedin for professional. same rules apply - only people I ahve met and know personally.

But the newest craze is twitter. Anyone twitter from SD?

I've been on Facebook for 5 years now. I joined it when it was just a Harvard-based networking concept, at the urging of a senior who had just graduated from the University. I was attending my 35th college reunion and we had had some really wonderful conversations, so she thought we could use Facebook to continue communication.

Over the years it has grown incredibly. I now find former high school and Harvard classmates through it, as well as former students I have taught who connect with me. However the greatest value to me has been the number of divers throughout the world I've connected with. I'm on as Bill Bushing.
