I appreciate your input and everybody else has been very supportive
I was hoping this thread might help other smokers think about it, being a former smoker I know what it feels like if other people try to put pressure on you to quit,, but in the same breath being a former smoker I can say this also....Today I was thinking that for over 30 yrs I thought smoking was cool and it was suave, debonair, sophisticated and I was in control LoL... I must have looked like an Idiot and stupid with one of those in my mouth...I was such a sucker !. This is the end of my third day and according to the Transdermal Systems rules of engaging the enemy on page 18 paragragh 2 its a major victory As fellow SD members have said " the best days are before me now"

Just kidding.

My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck.

I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead.

What? Why would YOU need smokes to be cool and suave? I'm sure you didn't look like an idiot but cigarettes do not make the man. You are who you are (cool, suave, debonair, sophisticated) without them. You're just more kissable without. Is 'kissable' a word?
You know what I mean. More power to you. Sending positive smoke-free wishes your way.

Good for you Bubski!
Now you can start a "dive trip Kitty". For every carton you used to buy, that money goes into the trip kitty!
Keep up the good work!!
Hey Mike, good to hear you will quit this time. Babs, the dive trip kitty is a great idea. My aunt used something like that on me when I was smoking as a motivational tool to get me to quit.
Back when I was a teenager, I was smoking regularly because I thought it made me cool. When my aunt, who was a three-pack-per-day smoker back then, found out, she sat me down, told me about her troubles she was having as a result of smoking, and suggested that, for the following month, everytime I had the urge to smoke, I try putting the money I would spend for a pack of cigs into a jar. She said she wanted to see the jar after a month. Because I loved and respected my aunt, I did as she suggested.
In one month, that jar had about $50 worth of change in it. Back in 1979, that was a lot of money. I was able to give up smoking within a month.
You can do it, Mike!

Thanks All for your continued Support
Day 3 was really a good test to see if I was going to follow thru with this because I'm still living with a smoker, my SO is trying to quit and she is struggling with it. I cant encourage her to quit or discourage her either. But we did a two hour drive to Tx and back while she smoked and I didnt waver from the plan
