Hey John...great input!

I'll be on the show floorplan after tomorrow...at least I hope I am. So I'm not sure yet which booth we have. Should know more tomorrow.

Ok so directly to convention center from the airport...probably a $20 taxi so not too bad.

Any help on Friday night is greatly appreciated. The tradeshow is actually a suitcase so I usually get set up pretty easily. We are low tech but no one has complained yet!

I have no idea where to do the HH at. Just know it will be best for us on Saturday so we can invite people to it. I will need to know soon so I can work on having a sign or something made up for the booth.

So now to figure out where I'll be staying...

Hey,John ,I joined in September.I'm not that far from you.I do hope a HH can happen here.trying to get one going.Trying to give SD a Push here in 2010.I didn't think that there were more than 2 members in the area.No one here"IL." ever speaks up on the board.I'm in WW ,anything I can do!Glad to see the thread.

I just checked: Howard Johnson at Elk Grove Village O'Hare has $36 a night. It is 5 miles from the airport/convention center. Why don't you get a reservatio before it is sold out (others are reading this too then see if you can "get a couch to crash"?

Your location is central to everything: you are equi-distance to the Convention Center, Downtown, and Naperville. Is there a good place to have a HH in your area? Naperville is great for me but too far for everyone else.

Downtown is far and parking is expensive. Alternative is around the convention center, but I don't know any good ones, and it maybe very pricy.

Any other suggestions? Anyone in the Greater Chicago area want to chime in?

The closer we are to the convention center the better. If people have to pay to park for the show...then WALKING distance is even better. Plus we will be more likely to get NEW members from the show that want to join us! Not to mention some vendors who ALWAYS join us at the various consumer dive shows!!!

So lets find a place walking distance to the Convention Center if possible. I'm sure TimAlso will have some ideas or anyone who has done this show before! kamala

John,I've mentioned the place to Tim aka timalso.It is right off the exit ramps for the I55 I294 intersection.Wolf's Head (see below). Already talked to owner.Just not sure what to tell him as far as a turn out.We frequently go there.Good food,not rowty & or loud music ,not pricey , no pkg. fees.easily found over all I think it good be a good 1/2 way accessable point for all concerned. Ambiance is eclectic .I'm posting it here as a FYI for now. The name is Wolf's Head Resturant & Bar. 6937 Joliet Rd Indian Head Pk.60525 708-246-0400,.In strip mall ,on south side of Joliet rd.,b/4 Wolf Rd,"if heading east".Just need a thumbs up, from WW.To be confirmed soon.

There isn't much within walking distance of the convention center, there is a restaurant/bar (Gibsons) across the street but it's quite expensive. there is also a bar in the Hyatt Hotel where many people staym for the convention and is accessable by in door walkway from the cc. not quite as expensive. I will be talking to a friend tomorrow that is more familiar with the local area. There is a Hooters close by but I know some people may find that offensive. Will post again tomorrow night. Tim

Why don't we have a list of helpers, and a list of HH-goers, just like the other dive shows? I am curious if there are just 3 members here in Chicago. Maybe others are busy ice-diving?
