never had the chance to meet Dave. but from what i have read here on this site he sounds like a great guy.
my condolences go out to his family and friends on their loss.
may God grant them the peace and comfort they need at this hurtful time for them.

just a thought here. is there anyway that you can make it so that no one else can ever have Dave`s name on here. sort of a way for all here who know him to help remember him. like i said just a thought.

I got this news first thing this morning. Very sad indeed. Dave and I roomed on the T&C trip. He was a great guy. Wonderful photographer. I will miss him. :-D

Several of us that have been on trips with Dave have talked to each other today and reminisced about Dave and the trips we had with him. His laid back attitude, his humorous comments and his great photography. As Jeff said - he will never be forgotten! My heart goes out to his family.

What an incredibly sad thing :-D

I remember sitting down with him on the Turks and Caicos trip and being amazed at the photos he had taken. Capt Saaz said it best - "He had a great ability to take great underwater photo's with a cheap camera. A quiet guy with a great sense of humor and a big smile." This is an excellent description of Dave

he was truly a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him

Oh my, this is such sad news. My deepest sympathy to Dave’s family and friends. He was a GREAT guy.

I will keep Dave and his family in my prayers. So sad to have him leave us so young….. he will be missed. :-D

I never had a chance to meet Dave, but from the words on this thread it is obvious he was a special person. My prayers for his friends and family.
As for me, I'm feeling pretty scubalicious.

I've not known what to say all day, read the news last night just as Kamala posted it. It has been so close in timing to sudden and devastating illnesses for two people very close to me, that it has made it all the more difficult to know what to say. I never met Dave, just read a few of his posts on the board, but it is clear to me he will be missed by many.

My thoughts and prayers are with all Dave's family and friends. I wish you all peace and comfort.

I too met Dave on the Turks and Caicos trip. He was a great guy and absolutely hilarious with his comments. This is incredibly sad news and I echo what others have said....We will never forget him.

I went through an identical situation with my older sister in 1997 (she was even my best dive buddy then). There's hardly anything more soul battering than the emotional rollercoaster of a close relative's miraculous rescue from near death, only to lose them suddenly from an unexpected relapse.

Please join me in keeping Big O's family in our prayers.
