PAYMENT DUE IN FULL BY JUNE 30th MIDNIGHT OR SPOT COULD BE RELEASED TO WAITING LIST:

Hello Atocha Adventure Divers! I know many of you are worried about the oil spill and its affect on this trip. The Fisher Family has generously agreed to refund every diver the trip payment in full should the trips have to be canceled. Of course the trip would be prorated for the unusable components if the oil should hit during a trip in progress. That being said all payments for these trips are due in full 90 days prior to departure which was a while ago. Now that the uncertainty regarding the impact of the oil spill has been removed, you must pay for your spots in full by Midnight June 30th or risk your spot(s) being taken by those on the waiting list.

NUMEROUS divers are worried that this opportunity will not exist next year and want a spot THIS YEAR! Please keep in mind that the trip threads do not reflect most of the waiting lists as we have not had a chance to update them fast enough. However NEARLY EVERY TRIP HAS A WAITING LIST and its growing as we advise the active mailing list of Atocha fans the sold out trip status for this year.

So please get your payments in immediately for your spots. Any person signed up for a trip who is not paid in full will receive a private communication to also advise them of this payment requirement.

I will not be going on this trip. I wanted to go, and I want to explain why I am not.

By a PM posted around 6:30 p.m. that I received around 10 p.m. June 25th Kamala asked me, in effect, to voluntarily withdraw from this trip. Without allowing me a reasonable opportunity to respond, she decided to go ahead and dump me from the trip and sent me a PM at 4 a.m. June 26th with that news. By the time I found out later that morning, she had already refunded my deposit! Subsequently, yesterday, apparently Kamala changed her mind, said she had made a mistake in refunding my deposit, and invited me to go on the trip.

I made this original post to make clear that I rejected this invitation and so that other SD members could more easily determine how many spots were actually open. I couldn't go even if I wanted to because after I saw that the trip deposit refund had posted to my credit card I canceled my air reservation, incurring a $150 fee that I am asking SD to reimburse.

My point is this: you, too, can be dropped involuntarily without cause from a trip even if you have made a deposit, booked and paid your air, made the required postings in the thread, and made payment arrangements (see posts #41, 42 above)!
