Since we have another thread talking about the best stuff, there should be a thread talking about the awful stuff that seems to show up on Thanksgiving.

One rule. Fruitcake does not count. I believe there are only 63 fruitcakes in existence in the US and they just move house to house, year to year.

For me it was that green jello salad sh.... stuff with mayo in it. Ugh!!!!! Nasty stuff.

If we are including cooking mishaps, I would say the cookies that were made with baking soda instead of sugar.

If we are talking about normal food, then I would have to go with pumpkin pie. I have no idea how people can eat that stuff.

What a great thread! :wakawaka:

The only thing that I about wretched at was a friend who used instant mashed potatoes instead of real. I'd never had them before and I'll never have them again. They say they have come a long way but I ain't buying it!

A baked dish that used lemon slices (particularly the peels) on defenseless chicken.

It tasted just about as you'd expect--and I made myself eat two small helpings so that I did not offend my hostess.

Okay, that's just WRONG!

(Note to self, hide any pumpkin pie in the house and serve apple or other pie instead!)

Green Bean Casserole..

On this, my friend, we CAN AGREE! Whoever thought of that dish ruined some good green beans!

...Note to self, do not serve WW instant mashed potatoes... I wonder what her favorite "mix in" is for the potatoes...milk, cream, other??

Any cookie that is not a home made chewy chocolate chip (don't even think about a store bought cookie) fudge dipped Oreo’s exempt from this rule :wakawaka:

I'm surprised that as of yet, no one has mentioned brussel sprouts.

Oyster dressing. Gag me with a spoon. I"ve never had it, but it just sounds horrifying. Who in their right minds would combine oysters with turkey and the requisite fixins?
