TRUELY ANOTHER SLAP TO NATURE.Would like to see the Phillipines people cut off a limb from a child and see there re-action to that...Very Cruel :tears: :tears: All I can say is I hope they find who ever did that. The pix should be posted at some of the resturants who serve such items .

You do realize that the locals and the Filipino government are very upset about this occurrence, right? And it is highly unlikely that local Filipino fishermen did this, right?

In light of them reinforcing that this is illegal in their country, I do not understand your response to this issue, such as blaming the Filipino people for this.... especially as it is not a part of their cultural diet. It is a part of OTHER country's cultural diets.

I know a number of Filipino (and especially Filipina) divers and they are all very upset at this. Condemning the entire country for the actions of a few would be like condemning all Americans for the actions of a single poacher. Many in the Philippines are very much aware that whale sharks are one of the many draws their waters have for visitors like us.

To all of the SD members and any Phillipine persons, who may have stumbled on my comment.I apologize as I should not have assumed or presumed it was a local person.Regardless ,I again apologize not meaning to harm any one ,just upset with this action....Please forgive me..Mea Culpa,Mea Maxima culpa...

Greg... it is good to get upset over these cruel things. I'm sure you realize that the anger needs to be directed at the individuals who did this as well as the culture that demands it (although it is changing).
