There seem to be two schools of thought on how dive shops should run - those who've done it and those who haven't.

I don't need to say any more as WW has said it all. And she's BLONDE!

Hee! Hee! Gosh I didn't realize you had noticed! :D

Well that is until I misread NC for SC in my other post to George! :-D

Anyway, the reg is an Apeks DST/TX100.

OMG :wakawaka: Apeks has been recalling over 8 million DST/TX100 regs for sticky excelorator troubles ! apparently you can be diving with them and then give them the gas and you will find yourself on the otherside of the swimming pool.. or .. better yet.. Bonaire ! O wait a minute thats a Toyota :thankyou:

Drifter testing diving gear (bought from ?) without getting it serviced by a Pro is a gamble (at best) Your original question about the plugging of the HP Out on the reg was scary IMHO.

Bubski,
I wouldn't try it anywhere that I couldn't just stand up if something wasn't working. I was meeting up with a local dive instructor who will be guiding me through my Rescue Diver this spring and he had access to tanks and a pool last Sunday. The regs showed up a few days prior to that and i wanted to test it before completing the transaction. I used my old regs for most of the evening but hooked the new ones up to try out before leaving. I promise they will get checked out thoroughly prior to anything other than what is stated above!

They did make a strange noise when I pressed on the brake pedal though!!! :thankyou::D

Bubski:

I would like to ask why is this scary. I don't personally see a problem with this in this context. Let me know what I’m missing. PM me if you don't want it in the open. I am curious and believe me no offence intended :thankyou:

There are two things I like about the shop I take mine to. 1) I believe the guy who services the rig is qualified since he designed the 1st stage for Oceanic. 2) The provide a free pool dive with every service.

So after each service, I take my regs in the pool. In fact, I have one coming up prior to my trip to South Carolina in April.

That is good on all fronts! And good luck getting out of NC in April. They are almost always blown out or you simply wish they would. :wakawaka: Takes LOTS of sea sickness meds...and NEOPRENE. It will be cold in April.

Even out on Lake Jocasse? But I plan on diving dry.

Hey Georoc, I met you on the NC trip a couple of years ago. I really dont think you'll need meds for Jocassee haha but a jar of vaseline might be more feasible, squeal like a pig. The drysuit is going to come in handy. You're not going to have the best boat captain now I'm in Houston but bear with the one you get. I could only give so much knowlege in a short period of time. Either way you'll have a great time with those guys up there. I wish I were going to be out there also but will be there in thought. Tell that bunch to treat you right or I might have to make a quick visit back.

Rocky
