Scott

I would hold off right now and look again starting the middle of april. Right now the airlines average fares are 3x what they were a week ago (American in some cases being 4-5x). I know as im looking at 4 other tickets right now and im scratching my head as to if those trips are going to be worth it.

Dan

A while back some really smart person on SD (can't remember who) recommended farecompare.com. You can set it up to notify you of fare changes. It notified me when other similar services didn't. I've used it twice now to get much better prices.

Okay, I'm not sure I understand about the rentals yet...

Each day we will do two dives. Will we be renting two tanks per day (and therefore have, for 100's, a cost of $19 times two) or is the price for rentals the cost of two tanks($19 for 100's)? So with three days of diving, would this be (3 times $19=$57) or (3 times $19 times 2=$114)?

That would be Secretsea18, parrotfish, and I that mentioned it. I have a whole set of alerts(Dallas to Raleigh/Durham, and Dallas to Charlotte and Greensburg/Spartanburg being two of them) that let me know when certain routes get to certain price points. The scratching my head part was some trips outside of SD that the clients are extremely price sensitive and some of the quotes they have gotten for air travel means the projects get pushed back or canceled, which is the "going to be worth it part" as a couple of places are two for one trips, one thing for the client the other for me.

The price is PER TANK so $114 is correct.

(Please note you have to offer things the way the resort/operator sells things. This is primarily a drive in destination where people bring their own tanks hence the fill price. For those that rent which in the early days was practically ONLY ME AND MY GROUPS...the rental price. Now its about 50/50 fills and rentals. Kamala

Hey everyone.. Delta/Airtran/US Air/United are having a 2-day summer airfare sale starting today (midnight just a few minutes ago) through midnight Thursday night.

Atl - New Bern went from over $300 to $209 with tax. If you haven't booked tickets now might be a good time.

Kate good catch my email just got the same alert, but not from farecompare, which is odd maybe it will show up later. For those that fly American and Continental be patient as was looking through a database tonight and came across some airfares that once the dates open and they are filed should be pretty good and close to the range that WW put in the first post.

Que yall are gonna kill me as the cast of characters on this trip so far is gonna make it a great trip. Now if im working my boss is gonna kill me as im already taking time at the end of july/beginning of august for the boy scout jamboree. Oh well I have the PTO and I want to go on this trip, now the rest of the cards need to fall into place, so keep your fingers crossed.

Hello all. Kate P mentioned airfare from Atl to New Bern. I expect to be in New Bern a day or so earlier, visiting my dad. He is about 5 minutes from the airport. If one or two people are flying into New Bern, I should be able to assist with travel from that point to the hotel. Let me know who is flying in there. Ed
