Air fare is about $1500 and I'm working on a contract!

This boat is suited for all singles. The crew is what makes the experience for divers. Many crews will not allow 4 dives a day but only 3. We will get 4 if we fill the boat but with this great price and the limited number of 16 we should not have a problem.

As for announcing this late...it has taken the better operators LONGER to reduce prices. No one would want to go if we were paying top price and others found deals.

I literally JUST got the word. I was simultaneously looking at the Philippines as well... a new area and new resort.

No, post-op. Crashed most of the afternoon and evening. So of course I was bright eyed and bushy tailed during the night!!! Will be great if both of us walking wounded make the trip. And I just wanted to be the first to post :teeth:LOL .

And where does the fly starts and ends - for your $1500 sample fare?

From online search, it looks like leaving from NYC or DC makes more sense than from LAX, for the following reasons:
* It is shorter distance to fly over Atlantic than over Pacific from most part of the US;
* Even starting from LAX, most cheaper flights will go through either NY or DC. So it take more time to get to LAX then double back;
* The flights I looked at (mostly at Orbitz, etc) cost much less starting from NY or DC. (If return on 11/14, instead of 11/13, the fare will be the lowest).

So would you consider this alternative?

Kamala - this is a very nice and spacious boat - we came up alongside it when we were transferring back to the airport in male last November.

On my trip, most of the Americans flew to Male with Emirates and their code share partners via Dubai. Another alternative is via India, where some spent time doing the Taj mahal etc before joining the liveaboard.

I wish I could join you - I now have a gang of girls coming out to Abu Dhabi for the F1 grand Prix during these dates. Tough life.....

Since I have done Maldives liveaboard, I am not going to do trip, but from my experience, I can not say enough good things about Emirates Air out of NY with fueling stop in Dubai. Great airline and pretty much as good as Singapore Air.
