I'm heading to my home town for the weekend and have plans to get together with my college sweetheart. We reconnected on Facebook a few months ago. I was surprised to find that I still have a bit of a crush on him after all this time. :teeth:

I'm wondering - has anyone else reconnected with past loves? Was it fun or disappointing?

Old crushes... love 'em, hate 'em.... I ran across an old crush, of course he was married (isn't that the way of it!), so we had a nice time talking, but if there's one thing I don't mess with it's someone else's marriage, so it was good to reconnect but it wasn't going to go anywhere.

Reconnected with my high school sweetheart in 1991. Discovered we could still be good friends. I still keep up with her and she with me, but just friends.

My high school sweetheart (1965) and I "reconnected" a number of times over a 20 year period... in between her marriages. Not sure where she is now. Good luck with yours!

Came across my high school sweetheart shortly after I was married the first time. I remember turning around and seeing her holding my son, who was a few months old, and feeling a flood of emotions come rolling in. Funny that all those emotions were there yet we never officially dated in high school. It had only been 5 years that we hadn't seen each other at that time. Next time we spoke was almost 15 years later. That time, I had been divorced for awhile and she was married with 3 kids. Life took us down different paths, so it's just friends now.

Good luck to you Lynn.

I didn't realize that the kids are calling it 'reconnecting' these days. We're just getting together to catch up. I suspect he's totally 'reconnectable' though. :teeth:

Wow Chris. That had to be a powerful moment for you. Nice that you're friends.

Lynn,

I have caught up with a few people from the past through Facebook. It was fun and interesting. I have done this with people that ranged from past aquaintances, all the way to a girl from an extremely rocky but passionate relatioship, funny she is working on her SCUBA cert. All of the catch ups were harmless, just fill in the last 25-30 years over lunch or beers.

Sounds like fun! I've caught up with a couple of old boyfriends on Facebook, but unfortunately they are all happily married.

All in all a great weekend on several fronts. It was fun to reconnect.

I ran into an old crush back about 20 years ago at a 10 year high school reunion and he was married so we just talked and caught up. I ran into him again at the 30 year reunion last year. He and I both were divorced this time. We talk a lot and seeing each other "some" but not often. We live about 60 miles from each other. He is a very nice person but I don't know if it will lead to anything. I'm still glad that we ran into each other and have been able to explore what life will bring. If it stays as friends then I have a new one that I will treasure. It's been a blast talking about old times and things that happened back in the day!! ;)

Yep. :cool1: He's divorced.

It's fun to hear stories of people reconnecting. I agree with ScubaSis. Worst case is you get a renewed friend out of the deal.
