Hi All, I just picked up my 7-8 years old Aqua Lung Titan from LDS for a full service overall with NO OCTO ( I use a inflator/octo combo)and was shocked at the service/parts fee.
What do you think a fair price would be and/or how much did your last overhaul cost??
Thanks

My LDS charges $49.95 for reg service. MY last reg service was cost of parts kit alone, since I serviced my own.

What did they charge you for the service?

Strange....the Aqua Lung regs & octo that I own gets free parts for life, all I have to pay for is the labor. The annual labor charge for service on both sets of regs and my BC is a little over $60 at my LDS. It probably helps that I bought it all from them.....

I bought used regs from LDS that did the service. When the girl cashed me out she said the bill was $140, after asking for a detail of the charges she noted some pending outstanding balance ( future courses). $50 labor for 1st/2nd, $50 parts, tax, $103.00 total. The shop owner said about $80 when I drop off reg. The $140 was a mistake. Thanks..

Yes it helps Tammy! And I'm sure your regs are not too old yet.

Stan for your part of the country that is probably the right price.

Prices vary. I just paid $128* for service and parts for my Mk 5 Scubapro which is 40 years old.

So service pricing is variable and relative.

*The same servicing used to cost me $70-80 when our long time member and friend Sr Tech in Dallas was servicing regs. Sadly he has been diagnosed with stage 4 Alzheimer's and has had to give up his repair business. :tears:

Purchased in July 2006, and they have 250+ dives on them. I had the first stage completely overhauled at the last service due to a free-flow issue that was annoying....all new parts for free! :D

So sorry to hear this. Although his Alzheimer's will prevent him from remembering his SD friends, I'm sure all of you who knew him will remember him fondly and with great respect for his technical skills.

ScubaToys was a client of John aka Sr Tech's. They would have him fix the regs they couldn't or wouldn't.

It is a huge loss to see him go. He did work with a man locally and imparted his style of workmanship and craftsman ship to him as well as all his spare parts. So while I can get my regs serviced for free (hubby is a regulator technician) I still want someone at least trained by John to do my regs as long as they are my classics. When I finally change to new regs I'll use hubby then! ;)

My LDS charges $85 for full reg service, that includes a a pressure test and replacing the battery in my air integrated computer and a pool check out session afterwards.

Every year at Xmas they put a 10% off service coupon in their xmas circular, so I have my done over the holidays every year.
