Divi Flamingo Beach Resort, a prominent scuba divers resort on the Caribbean Island of Bonaire, last week hosted the annual gathering of SingleDivers.com. The resort has hosted the growing single and buddyless scuba diving community group for a number of years.
As key part of the group?s annual visit is a tradition of bringing school supplies and donations for local Bonaire groups. This year?s recipient of SingleDivers.com?s goodwill is Kas Carco, headed by Ellen Cornelissen and Monalisa Domacasse.
"We enjoy bringing a variety of items that can be put to good use in local communities", says Kamala Shadduck, President of SingleDivers.com. "Our divers like to see the smiling faces of the young people who have just received new school supplies, treats and other small tokens of international friendship."
This year the donations included books, school supplies, bagpacks, pencils, toothbrushes and toothpaste, clothing, sports items and even a few special treats.
During the week, the SingleDivers.com group enjoyed a variety of boat and shore dives coordinated by the professional staff of Divi's onsite dive center. The week-long event will return again in March of 2012 according to Divi and SingleDivers.com officials.
