Several other scuba related forums are reporting that Tim Owens has passed away.
I have NOT verified this information.
From what I have read it was NOT related to diving.
I met Tim several times in SingleDivers.com happy hours and dives. I also ran into him twice while diving. He was happy to take a lot of time answering my questions about rebreathers and cave diving. Tim was very active on this forum.
Tim, I hope you enjoy diving in your new world with limitless no-decompression dive times.
Tim "Netmage" Owens pass away.

Words are hard to come by on such a sad loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Tim in Bonaire. A memorable trip and he was a very memorable person. So nice...so young.

Oh my...I did not see this post until late yesterday but was called by several of our members to let me know of this tragic loss. And it is... Tim was such a nice guy and always willing to help new divers out or anyone for that matter. I spoke to him a couple of months ago and he was very happy and was thinking of joining us on a trip. He was involved in many SD events and trips including the "proposal" trip to NC where Bill popped the question on the USS Schurz off Morehead City, NC.
Life is so fragile but we tend to expect those we know as young as Tim to be around for a long time. Tim lived every day to its fullest. He had several brushes with death and they taught him to cherish the time we have on this planet and to cherish those around you. Tim loved diving more than anything except his wife. I'm glad he had both right at the very end. Can we say the same for ourselves?
Tim may you find peace in the afterlife whatever you believe that to be and may your family find peace soon dealing with this premature tragedy.

Apparently Tim died in his sleep. I'm hoping he was dreaming about a great dive he had. Sad news as he touched so many other divers.
