Seems to be working fine now; my understanding is that certain upgrades are being tested/installed and that's why the site was giving 404 codes for the last few hours or so.

The site went to a static ip address yesterday and it takes some time for the new ip to propagate through the internet. During this time the site might be unavailable. The propagation should have been (nearly) completed last night so if you are still getting errors, and you are on windows, then do the following.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Rt-click on it and 'Run As Administrator'. Type the following and hit enter: ipconfig /flushdns

on MAC OS X 10.5-10.7

open a terminal and type dscacheutil -flushcache then press enter

on MAC OS X 10.4

open a terminal and type lookupd -flushcache then press enter

This will clear your cache of saved ip addresses so you can accept the new one.

Reminds me of my ex wife... whenever I tried to get friendly with her she responded with 403

The whole time I was married, when I tried to pay the bills, the bank would respond with 410 !

I had several friends over the years who had this problem.

The workaround was to uninstall the TSR program Wife 2.0 and replace it with a patch called YoungGirlfriend 10 . The problem with that program was that it seemed to constantly require additional patches like Gift 1.0 and SportsCar in order to keep it operating smoothly. Most gave up after a while and reinstalled a different version of the Wife program, claiming that the new, later version was not as buggy--especially when the installation also coincided with the program PreNup 5.

By no means a software 'update', if the procedure is not done very carefully and IN THE PROPER SEQUENCE you could easily get 405 and 409 errors.

An alternative (which I have yet to try) is to engage an independent contractor by the hour. The advantage of an independent contractor is that you'll never get a 405, though the 402 might be beyond your budget.

Have you ever gotten a 413 response?

Not since the 1990s, though there was some concern during Y2K.
