DOCUMENTS UPDATE:

1) Leslie aka sharklover, we received your Survey, Waiver and Insurance Summary! :thankyou:

Thanks! They were held up because of some travel insurance issues with Dive Assure which I will probably post about separately.

My apologies for the lousy handwriting/chicken scratch. I have a prescriber's license you see, so I had to work very hard to develop such illegible writing. Let me know if you have any questions :teeth:

jerry - If it helps im looking at this trip as well, and will pull the trigger first part of May.

This will be the only dive trip this year as well due to scheduling and a few other factors. I was looking at the maldives trip but gonna pass so I can focus on being ready for truk and the deeper dives in 2014.

I am interested. That is if I can find a decent airplane ticket from Montreal. The price and time vary wildly from 680 to 1400 $, from 9 hours to 22 hours to get there.

Trust me $680 and 9 hours w/ connections included is a excellent deal. Strike while the irons hot. Last years Roatan trip cost me from Boston $780 USD.

No kidding Im looking at flights and getting some serious sticker shock. Might have to see if i can rack up some United miles or see if I can arrange a trade as the timing and cost for tickets out of DFW stink.

Sorry, it goes more like:

Get there in 9 hours for 1400 $
Get there in 22 hours for 680 $

This time I don't have 2 weeks to spend on a dive trip.

Lephenix,

You might consider checking some alternate arrival and departure dates and seeing if that made a difference. Of course, you'd need to check in with the trip organizers/resort to see if you could still have the same weekly package. I mention this because one person planning to attend had to come in on Sunday. She found that by doing so the airfare dropped considerably.

MOST flights are Sat to Sat so there is little flexibility. However if you can do Sunday to Sunday we can work around that. Flights are VERY high now and will remain so until later this summer I suspect. They try to get as much as they can now and then reduce prices if there is still lots of space. We had a similar situation last year but nearly 60 people were able to join us so watching air is the ticket.

Pascal I hope you can join us...it would be great if you could. Do try to see if you can find Sunday to Sunday departures or even Monday. We can add an extra day for a reasonable price and I'm sure that lots of people will need to arrive on Sunday in order to make the prices work.

The inventory of seats on the flights to Roatan out of Atlanta is pretty wide open. When I booked, the flight priced out to around 800 dollars. So I chose a frequent flyer seat and the plane had tons of seats. It would have to to still have a FF seat left for the taking. And on exactly the flights I wanted, no funny connections.

So I suspect that a bit closer to the time the prices will drop. Keep checking them Lephenix.

I will study this more carefully. My 40th birthday is on Nov 3rd, so I absolutely do not want to spend this day in an airport or plane, I would feel like a big loser. I would rather spend it at Roatan or home.

I may have found something leaving from Toronto saturday Oct 27th early and returning Sunday Nov 4th. Plenty of flights from 685-700 $ I still need to get to Toronto by train overnight.

Pascal, I looked to see if I could meet up with you in Toronto (never gone through there before and would be fun to meet up with someone) but guess what.....I can go through Edmonton and Houston return for $755 taxes in!

Maybe this is the next trip I should be considering.

I would be HONORED to have so many CANADIANS on our trip! :canada:

Some of you may know that SingleDivers.com owes its international appeal to a Canadian... SD was a spin off of my other company... Red Wet & Blue Diving and so when we were starting it the first logos were all red, white and blue. One of the trip goers said it was perfect...except for the 'blue'. It took me a moment or three to realize what she was saying...but then I realized that if we made it red, white and blue it would only be a US club so we opted for universal colors and here we are. SALUTE TO :canada: & :thankyou:

Pascal.... if we party enough DURING THE WEEK...you'll not care about the 3rd one way or the other! ;)

But seriously...if you can return the 4th that would be great! I think we are returning the 4th too! Kamala
