This song has been done over the years by many artists, but I like this one the best. Would love to have it played after I kick it.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World.
I want this played at my wake:

Not too many have the pipes to do what Phoebe Snow did with this one.

Could also post a bazillion Ella Fitzgerald songs. No doubt my favorite vocalist ever. Sarah Vaughn, who I was lucky enough to see once, wasn't any slouch either.

Here is my favorite track from my favorite living artist. For those of you unfamiliar with him, he taught Jimmy Hendrix how to play a guitar. This You Tube video is a very poor substitute for watching him go off on a 20 minute extended guitar version of this song as he walks up the aisles.
Don't get me started on opera.

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd.
Hey, thanks for putting that seed into my brain. I had a lot of driving to do this weekend for work related things. Thanks to you, today's road music was "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall" Good stuff. Even slowed me down a bit as I thought it would not be a good idea to be pulled when Comfortably Numb or Brain Damage was playing.
My older brother has every good album and corresponding CD produced after the mid 60s. I recently acquired all of them and am revisiting them for the first time since he used to blast them through the house. I am struck that the younger set will never know just how good ALBUMS are when done well. And how GOOD music was in the 70s and 80s. They get it all in sound bites.

.... the younger set will never know just how good ALBUMS are when done well.....
I still buy the whole CD....and NEVER just a single download from iTunes.
Some of the best songs that Mark Knoepfler and Dire Straits ever produced were NEVER played on the radio.

Love Dire Straits, and I agree. I STILL always buy the whole CD or nothing at all. If there is only one good song on it, I pass. Not into one hit wonders and music lacking in some artistry.

Watched the Pulse DVD last night. I forgot to mention The Great Gig in the Sky. Claire Torry is unknown by name, but her voice will survive on that Pink Floyd track forever.Hey, thanks for putting that seed into my brain.
One brain haunting track I recalled was One Night in Bangkok.

I had forgotten about Claire Torry's vocals on Great Gig in the Sky until it played. I wonder where these great voiceover singers go? Never seen the Pulse DVD.
One Night in Bankok? Why? Don't get that imprinted on your brain.

Not taking that bait. I am ruminating on Comfortably Numb today, a far better choice in my opinion.
